I’ve got an appointment next week to tear into my motor. They seem like they will be replacing piston rings and inspecting cylinder walls. I’ll update you guys if this stops my crazy oil burn.
Im pretty sure I went though this exact pain just in a slightly different order. First they replaced the sensor, then told me they needed to drop the subframe and swap the oil pump, then told me they had to wait for these bolts for a week. Whole process left me without the Supra for a few weeks...
If you use a reseller, you ship your factory ECU to the reseller, who then forwards this to FEMTO in Finland. FEMTO charges about $750 for the service, then sends your reseller back your factory ECU, plus a flash file ready to be dumped onto your donor ECU.
If you send things by yourself, then...

If you use a high-traffic dealer to do this process it's about $4800 to get an OTS tune with ECUTEK. From what I see it's about 2 week turnaround. Still always risking your factory ECU...
tried this but ultimately settled on not using it at all. I set "start from second gear" and set torque limits if it's really slippery but in the end launching from second can never use the factory LC
Hey to answer you yes they did have to drop my whole subframe to get to the pump, took them a few extra days. My problem wasn’t resolved just by changing the sensor, this was required to get readings again on the iDrive system.
I still burn oil and an unacceptable rate (<1000mi per quart). I am...
I can concur as this is something I just tried myself. Been running stage 3+sport plus transmission for a few thousand miles, just disabled sport plus on transmission and noticed stage 3 not being so violent, and a lot more smooth shifting. Still fast, but not lurchy.
Okay would love to see this on video if you have it. I am wondering what this "feels" like in real time. surely it's not blasting numbers all over your screen as it freaks out hunting for a gear?
It's nice when you are stock as it give much more pops/bangs than the stock engine profile, but if you aren't great at pedal work it can be stressful as throttle gets a lot more sensative near the idle.
I will have to turn mine off sport+ and give it a try. Recently removed all my throttle...
Want to see some more installations on the supras. I am hoping someone out there has figured out how to install the jammers so they are not so obviously taped to the front bumper…
Definitely not. We’re talking full blown stock behavior. I’m gonna try my hand at stage 2 later maybe it will mitigate this, or maybe I missed an update where they quietly fixed this under the “fix bugs” section of the change log
