true unlock, not limited tables like the downgraded hardware clone. So hypothetically that means you should be able to program in lots of different features and it should eliminate all the piggy back band-aids to run PI and the other good stuff.

They are finishing some programming and configuration with other vehicles on the compression tool that spits the programming back into the DME. They actually made another post about it today

Sounds like very good news. The Femto unlocks (not the clone) only give access to the calibration area, and they can do a limited amount extra for each tuning platform like torque limiter removal, in their lab.

Does this work mean you could run whatever tuning software platform you want? EcuTek/bm3/MHD for instance, or is it targeting a specific one, or their own kit entirely? Any affiliation with bFlash?

Any plans to expand our of the US? ?

The Femto unlock and the clone allows you to access and modify all of the tables. With the unlock, you cannot access the second memory area, which allows for custom software to be loaded. The clone is 100% unlocked as if you had a 2020 MY.

It has nothing to do with any company specifically, and everything to do with correcting the misinformation.

You’re upset about how you’ve been treated, and I think most of us are sympathetic, it’s okay to post this stuff here. But some of your opinions are not facts, specifically your opinion that, quote “it's a true unlock, not limited tables like the downgraded hardware clone.”

This is just not accurate, and that is what was clarified. I’m in full agreement, as someone who has a clone, this is just not accurate.

It’s okay to be upset about feeling like you have been treated unfairly. And it’s okay to be excited about an upcoming solution for unlocking that you can afford, from a vendor that you haven’t had a bad interaction with.

It’s not okay to spread misinformation based on your feelings, and what you said, is misinformation.

One of the big things I advocated was for people to be able to use whatever tuning suite that they wanted once the unlock was done.

I'm hesitant to reply to you seeing your responses alone in this thread, but there it goes:
Takeaway is, Femto is a company that has been providing excellent service to thousands of people over the years, not just to Supras. Really doesn't matter where they're located at, they're a good company. For sure you'll have some unhappy customers in all business transactions.

What's more is you seem to be unaware/ignorant of their capabilities and current conditions and workarounds they've established.
You're probably talking about other companies/individuals/distributors who tried to handle the process themselves but either failed or wasn't the best experience to some. This is not a reflection of Femto and you seem to be ignorant of that fact.. So, disinformation is really what bothers people...

As mentioned, trying to shit on a company to promote one that you're a fan of is rather childish.
The fact that you had a long ass 1st post shitting on companies and countries and then deleting it afterwards initially had me relieved that you changed your stance on things, but your continued denial of the things you said is funny to say the least.

By this extension, you're leaving a bad rep for M3P trying to be an advocate for them.

I don't think he is a supporter. He is just trying to keep the facts straight.

The non-clone Femto allows full tuning outside of canbus (Map switching, anti-lag, PI/reflex integration)

The clone Femto allows anything you want.

I am 100% interested in the new option, already having a non-clone femto unlock, to be able to simply fully unlock my 2021 ECU and not have to source a 2nd ECU, which is what your posts have led me to believe is coming soon, similar to the bFlash information from a bit ago. So I am eager to see what is coming, but would now be hesitant to trust it.

Before this turns into a full-fledged ? slinging contest, I must say that I am excited for others to be able to enjoy and rely on a US based company and solution for their 6/20+ ECU problems.

I do not have a dog in this fight as I have a 2020 LE, but super happy for y’all to be able to remove the “child locks” and open up the possibilities to enjoy your car’s potential and entertainment factor.

Too much anger and hate in this world, we need to try hard AF to squash it when we see it. Love you all!

Whats the complete shipping costs for that other solution from start to finish and what's the wait time? What carrier is used?

If you use a high-traffic dealer to do this process it's about $4800 to get an OTS tune with ECUTEK. From what I see it's about 2 week turnaround. Still always risking your factory ECU getting lost in the mail.

If you do it on your own you will save a buck, but still need to source an ECU. Still have the risk of losing your ECU in the mail, or getting slapped like @zrk did by customs.

If you use a reseller, you ship your factory ECU to the reseller, who then forwards this to FEMTO in Finland. FEMTO charges about $750 for the service, then sends your reseller back your factory ECU, plus a flash file ready to be dumped onto your donor ECU.

If you send things by yourself, then you would need to select a carrier, and coordinate with FEMTO directly (they are very active in answering questions on IG). If you don't insure things properly, or you don't declare the right values for things you could get into trouble, and generally people place their trust into resellers to protect them from these possibilities.

I have an early unlocked '21 so I don't necessarily have a dog in this fight. However... Why go through all of the trouble and big $$ expense to end up with an OTS tune...!? :dunno:

I have 2 OTS tunes and 2 custom tunes after this process, with ECUTek.


Why? Unless you're changing parts that require tuning in between a single custom tune is all you need.

My general point being it seems silly to jump through the hoops and expense and not go the last mile for a custom tune out of the gate.
