Took it to the goodyear, I had to ask a few questions and mention the factory torque spec for the lugs but overall quicker and easier than the dealership and they were careful with it. Now I have a tire shop I can trust. Thanks guys.
Haha I was definitely going to jack it up first if I were to do it but it’s definitely a likely mistake, thanks for the warning now I’ll be extra cautious in the future!
Great tip! People here are so helpful. I’ll consider this certainly for next time, I’m in the middle of a staggered moving process and my jack and equipment are all at the new place.
No discount tire in my area, but I booked an appointment at a Goodyear auto service close to me for tomorrow yall. Has pretty good reviews, seems like it's run by a good manager. Hopefully the puncture depth isn't severe. I'll update the thread with how it goes
Thanks for the answer guys. Though I’ve had friends who had their TPMS sensor broken from improper dismounting at local tire shops. I’m also thinking about what if they don’t lift it at the right points etc etc. I could just take it there, but I’m hesitant. I’d want to reduce the risk of this...
Lo and behold after driving through yet another long stretch of construction I found a nail in my driver side front tire, ironically after posting about it yesterday. There’s no air pressure loss right now and I drove on it a little before realizing it was there.
I’d like to take it to a toyota...
Sorry to hear that man. We live in the same area though and I survived with summer tires on my 86. Driving the Supra lately (god forbid) I haven’t had any tire issues. The sensor might have a problem but do you visually inspect your tires regularly? Perhaps there’s an embedded nail or other...
I plan on using a car cover for driveway parking only in anticipation of a few days of particularly bad weather during certain months. What is the chance of risk involved in paint or car damage when using a coverking or another quality brand when only applying a cover for 1-2 days at a time? I...
Update: this morning I tried to view the camera from the outside and it looks just as centered as yours. Regardless I tried to ooga booga it and move it myself and didn’t work. However I went to a touchless carwash that I regularly go to and it seems that the rear view image has been adjusted to...
Super helpful, I didn’t think of checking the service manual lol. Small stuff like this is such a drag.. just wondering if I should go to a Toyota dealership that I would trust 40 minutes away or just deal with it myself
It’s noticeable enough that I have to adjust my parking habit and the cues I rely on. I hate dealing with dealerships but I want to gather as much info before I think of talking to one about it
Noticed this after coming home from work. I have a few bumps on my commute but nothing crazy that I would attribute to literally adjusting the camera in its housing. Anybody have this issue? I went outside to check the camera lens and I want to say it’s off directionally but i can’t be sure...
