Happy to have helped a bit - looks great! It’s nice to see this lip on cars that don’t have a blacked out bumper like the maxton site.
Did you remove the maxton logo? I thought about it but wasn’t sure if there was any indent or other considerations or if it was just a sticker.
Red/White is power. See a couple completed horns here: https://www.supramkv.com/threads/replacing-horn-with-piaa-sports-horn.10997/post-202047
Maybe it’s 0v until the horn is pressed? I’m no electrician.
I’ve seen people connect ground to brown, and I’ve seen them connect ground to the car. I...
Do it. Besides realigning it upon reinstallation (just trial and error), it's pretty easy because it's all bolts. No clips. (well, plus two parking sensor plugs)
Looking for any recommendations on a portable vacuum for cleaning the car (12v powered or rechargeable).
A large shop vac is not an option for me (at this time).
Amazon reviews seem hard to trust.
If there’s any portable vacuum that has the ability to also turn into a small blower, that would...
I have an Ecutek ProECU Programming kit for sale. This kit has not been used for flashing, and the USB cable is still unopened.
The Bluetooth OBD2 dongle and USB desk key were tested for functionality, and they both work fine.
Includes:
Bluetooth OBD2 Dongle
USB DESkey
USB cable
Case
2x...
Thank you! I really like the look of this lip, especially for the price.
Yes, the website says an instruction manual is included, but mine did not come with one. Furthermore, I contacted Maxton Design, and they confirmed they do not actually have an install manual for this lip. I was advised...
Installed:
New horn (PIAA 85112 115Db 500Hz and 600Hz Twin Tone Sports Horn ): https://www.supramkv.com/threads/replacing-horn-with-piaa-sports-horn.10997/post-202047
IND color matched front reflectors (just used a blow dryer to heat up the adhesive, bumper was already off car for the horn)...
Update: The velcro was all attached, but the piece on the passenger headlight was out of position (the little loop came off). However, the bigger obstacle was that many of the bolts from my front lip was creating clearance issues on both the crash bar and bottom engine cover (outlined here...
This isn't a full DIY, but rather a collection of notes I made from my install.
This lip is not as straightforward as some of the 3M and/or self tapping screw solutions, but it is not overly difficult either. Let me save you some of the headache.
Consider ordering from the UK site
I actually...
I just completed the horn upgrade using the write up in this thread: https://www.supramkv.com/threads/replacing-horn-with-piaa-sports-horn.10997/post-202047
Also sharing some wiring diagrams from PIAA if it helps.
Thanks so much for the write up. I just completed this upgrade using your mounting and wiring as a reference. Sharing some photos for others who are thinking about this.
Notes:
I just took the two horns to Home Depot and sourced a nut, bolt, and two washers.
I grabbed 16 gauge wire, the...
I’m not sure yet. I’ll do some more research when these are getting close to done, but a lot of people seem to run PS4S. I like the Continental Extremecontact Sports on my other car, too. I see people running the Falken Azenis RT615K, as well. Some people run even stickier compounds on the...
I run PSS 295s on the rear. My best 60’ on the street is like 1.95 or so with a 1/4 mile at 11.85 at 118mph. Your trap is higher, so with grip, I’d imagine you’d be mid 11s.
I think the PSS 295s are fine for rolls (but of course, I’m not on E yet). If you want to maximize your 1/4 mile, you’ll...
I’ll double check that in the morning. The velcro was definitely there, but maybe part of it moved.
I’m getting big gaps on the inside points of the headlights that’s making it impossible for me to line up the rest of the bumper.
Top portion goes on great, though.
Just removed my bumper to do some mods. Mods went well, but I’m having issues getting the bumper back on.
It feels like something in the center/nose of the bumper is getting caught and not allowing me to fully push the bumper back on.
I tried removing the crash bar foam and same thing, so I...
