  1. Power loss, drivetrain error, limp mode

Found this because I've just encountered a similar thing. Same mods as you OP with flex fuel kit, minus the Pure trans. I've had it happen after going into 3rd at WOT , and once in 4th gear. Ethanol content was at 49% and 51% the times it's happened. Basically it seems to cut power and then do...
  2. Trans not working but not blown... Weird codes and wont shft into gear. XHP + Custom E50 Tune

You could probably get Toyota to do that, but like you said if they reflash the ECU as well as the TCU you would have to bench unlock again and get your tune reflashed. I would definitely get details from the shop though - were they doing a custom XHP map? You should be able to check what was...
  3. New tires to go with 93 octane - e50 flex tune

Feels fine at high speeds now after I had the alignment done. I noticed it being wonky the first month I had the new tires; it seems the alignment in the rear was a bit off, so getting that done fixed it. I've been running at 34 psi on the Nittos and 38 on the front tires. I've tried a few...
  4. XHP Reviews and Feedback!

I can confirm the THOR wifi adapter works fine with it. I don't think it matters too much as long as it's one they show as compatible.
  5. Should I get an AT in the meantime?

Well personally I would with that wait time lol. Depending on the dealer who knows when they will get a 6spd allocation. You'll definitely be out some trading back in even if the final pricing before tax etc is msrp. Might be worth it if you're sick of waiting, and it will give you time to...
  6. Young Driver Insurance Cost, Crazy Rates.

I mean insurance is tricky since there are so many rating factors companies use. Location can make a huge difference of course as well as age. I'm pretty sure younger drivers are going to be paying high premiums for this car in general even with no accidents/claims or tickets.
  7. Topping Off Coolant

Hmm yeah looks like it. I'm not sure if replacing the cap is what people usually suggest; might be worth doing. I didn't see any residue on either of my coolant caps. Maybe it's normal for it to need topping off at some points (i just hit 20k miles) so guess i'll be checking the levels going...
  8. Topping Off Coolant

I had that happen recently and got some of the BMW HT-12 coolant. I noticed that step on the bottle too, but from everything I could find that's not necessary for topping off. i'm guessing that might be needed if you are refilling the whole system after flushing it. I went ahead and mixed it...
  9. New tires to go with 93 octane - e50 flex tune

Loving them so far, they hook nicely at pretty much any speed. I can't really break the rear loose easily, so can't have as much fun sliding, but being able to put the power down is great. I ended up getting an alignment too which also helped with rear stability.
  10. Flex fuel/ e50 tune questions

Gotcha, makes sense. I was assuming running way over what the car is tuned for without the supporting parts/tuning would lead to damage. I guess the consensus is that a percent or two over e50 until you re-mix shouldn't be an issue right?
  11. Flex fuel/ e50 tune questions

By melt stuff do you literally mean spit flames? not that I'm trying to do that lol. Doing my best to get the mix as close to 50% ethanol as I can but was wondering about any downsides of being slightly over that.
  12. Flex fuel/ e50 tune questions

I'm running a flex tune (with kit of course) up to e50 and was curious if anyone here might know or have thoughts on a couple of things: With the fuel mix is there any downside if I go a percent or two above 50 when running ethanol? I wouldn't think being at 51% to 53% E would harm anything but...
  13. New tires to go with 93 octane - e50 flex tune

Well I ordered a couple of Nitto Nt555rii for the rear in 285/35/19. That should hopefully do the trick until I decide to get all new wheels. After driving some more the power is manageable for me without traction control with the tune on 93 octane, but on e50 the power is way too spicy for...
  14. New tires to go with 93 octane - e50 flex tune

Nice, how many miles did they last for you so far? Were you mainly street driving?
  15. New tires to go with 93 octane - e50 flex tune

Really just a fun car that I can daily drive (work remote currently) cruise, and go to events with. Not planning on going bigger turbo or adding more power than the e50 flex tune. So that’s why I’m kinda stuck deciding between a different tire setup on stock wheels, and getting all new wheels...
  16. New tires to go with 93 octane - e50 flex tune

For sure, I’m a little more worried now though lol. Do you think a performance 200tw tire would be safer than the NT555rii in a 285 on the rear? Eventually the plan is new wheels with 11 inch rear to run 305s, may go with a less sticky tire then.
  17. New tires to go with 93 octane - e50 flex tune

Which tires did you go with on that setup?
  18. New tires to go with 93 octane - e50 flex tune

Do you mainly drive that setup on the street? Was wondering how it was in general, taking turns, or if there were any traction control issues etc.
  19. New tires to go with 93 octane - e50 flex tune

No I don’t have built axles. I wasn’t planning on doing drag racing or hard launches from a dig, so not sure if a 200tw extreme summer performance type tire would do the trick or the nt555rii, if I’m looking at the 285/35/19 rear size.
  20. New tires to go with 93 octane - e50 flex tune

I very recently was dyno tuned for pump 93 and e50 flex, and the stock tires obviously need to go. I was thinking about getting new wheels, (probably 19”, 9.5 front 11 rear width) but thinking I could just go with new rears like 275 or 285 just grippier. I mainly just do spirited street/ highway...
