Did you pry the silver headrest trim pieces off from the top down or the bottom up? I have the workshop manual, but it doesn't state which direction to remove.
I spent most of this past spring on cooling mods.
While power gaining mods are nice, I'd rather not lose any to this crazy heat.

I actually installed it myself. Lots of measuring and a Dremel (or equivalent rotary tool) with some EZ-lock cutting wheels. Oh, and a sh*t-ton of courage! ??
I wrote to Bimmer-tech regarding using the Alpha One Lightwave amp with the Integral Audio woofers and here is their reply:
"I can't comment too much on the integral woofers as I have no experience with them. I would expect them to be technically better than OEM. I don't see power handling...

Yes, I did! The Alpha One Lightwave amp is great! Definitely improved the sound. I have friends who just upgraded the subs and said there was no difference, but the amp actually DOES make a difference even with the stock 8" subs. It sounds cleaner and punchier - but not much deeper.
But...
My friend has the soft-closing doors and trunk on his Mercedes. While it's cool, I always find myself looking at it every time to see if it actually closes. The satisfying "thunk" of closing our cars' hatch and doors are more affirming.
