Just being pedantic and playing devil's advocate but is there really any "safe" modification on a car that can lose brake assist from a light foot and a twitchy finger at startup? ?
If you're not prepared to at least pay up front and argue with corporate on the back end to get reimbursed...
Me too... actually I'm much more interested in that than I am in the new Z. Although if I didn't already have the MKV I'm not convinced I'd feel the same. ;)
This. If it's a dedicated project car for shows or ?? (not track... it will be slower, but drift maybe) then it would have been worth it for wow-factor possibly. For anyone else you've got the problem with it not only being $15K-$25K "burned" (note that it's $15K for just the kit) - it's...
@starman - I'm sure you'd be even more pleased with the sound if you could now high-pass the signal going to the existing subs to roll at ~120Hz or so. Regardless, you definitely crafted an inexpensive option for reinforcement that still looks quite nice and clean!
If it is a full prototype... I wish they would employ similar tolerances on something in production.
Those door seams look razor thin and I can't see any frunk lines nor hatch/hood seams at all! (Outside of the T-Top at least)
My guess is clay but I'm certainly not confident in that assessment...
That's totally understandable. I personally don't find the normal Comfort mode tiring, but then again I avoid jams like Ebola outbreaks. I often drive a 60 mile run of highway that's fairly new and smooth so it would be interesting to see just how smooth it would feel with the Comfort Plus...
I can get 35 mpg in sport mode (with trans in normal however) - until I can't stand it any more at least. Just drive it like you're 75 years old and it's a Sunday afternoon.
As to why you would want to... no idea. The way you have to drive it to get anything close to 35mpg... you're better off...
I'm not an idiot, but I play one on TV... OK, often I am also an idiot in real life. However, watching the news... it seems to be a recipe for success these days - at least political success.
Well, there's several of us waiting on inventories before getting wheels. Of course, part of the "problem" is that the stock wheels are damn good (as far as weight/strength at least) - so just adding spacers and possibly a powder coat - results in a very nice look.
Once Apex gets their black...
Either matching yellow... or good ol' black. I don't actually mind the red as it's the "normal" Brembo color... but since there's very little red elsewhere I'd optimally like it to match something. If they were black they'd be invisible and not show dust... so that might even be better... but...
Lots of other potential donors available. As long as you're cloning the entire firmware, doesn't matter what it was in originally - as long as it is the same major hardware revision. So M40i versions of other BMWs from past 4-5 years should also work, I think.
Possibly. I think most people looking for a true sports car however wouldn't really cross shop the two. Maybe if someone with a limited budget and a baby was a determined Toyota brand loyalist they'd get one as opposed to MKV/GR86 but most would be wanting 2 seats and RWD at a minimum I would...
Not lying... I'd buy one - as long as it was similar to the GR Yaris and not just a body kit and hood scoop. Make it a CTR competitor for under $35K and it sounds like a great 'disposable' to share miles with my MKV. ;)
Did you just change the oil? The only thing I can think might be the case is a missing value due to clearing it, and running it manually should have fixed that.
Will be interesting if it comes up again, but you're correct - same sensor is involved so unless it's an intermittent communication...
Let's see... Sweden has a bit over 10M people with ~65 people per sq. mile (25/km2). California has nearly 40M (definitely over that if you account for tourists and non-citizens) and 231.1 people per square mile.
Yes, I would love it there in Sweden... less population = better living (on...
Yep, I just had to click that radio button too. LOL! So now you're at very close to base MSRP for a Cayman GTS 4.0 (or a Cayman T with some less expensive options added). Either of which will come standard with a much better 6MT than BMW has ever produced. I wonder which option will hold it's...
The calculus would be interesting to be sure...
On the one hand, California pays more in federal taxes than they receive in grants/entitlements... so it would be a fairly significant hit to state and federal budgets elsewhere. Three trillion (CA GDP) isn't as small a number as many in DC seem...
