Think you don’t need rock guards? I didn’t either. Bought some today. I suppose PPF would work, too. This isn’t a long term car for me, but the ZL1 rock guards are cheap to prevent any further damage.
This is only with about 500 miles on the new wheels.
Can only see when looking from the...
Non-matte gray is easier to keep “looking“ clean and will blend in with other cars more. White/black will look better if you want to get creative with wheel colors. Black will hide the car’s lines more and show nicks and scratches more. White will show all the lines (and fake vents if that...
Might want to inspect all four wheels so there are no surprises. Local shop said that you’d be surprised at what they see on “new” wheels out of the box. GLWS, though! I’m biased, but I think these are one of the best wheels in the price range.
Just following up on this. Tried on a new, smooth road. Conditions seemed good. I tried launching in second, traction off, etc. etc. (auto shifting for what it’s worth) and my runs are remarkably consistent.
Didn’t hit the 113mph trap as reported above (very consistent 110s), but I feel pretty...
People have upgraded their horns and had to remove the bumper without recalibration. Search the forum for those examples. Not sure where the other info is coming from, but I’m open to learning something new.
People hate on fake engine noise in the cabin on ICE cars, but I’d like to see that idea explored further on enthusiast-oriented EVs.
Between the actual audio and low bass frequencies (I believe Rivian has an example like this), I think some of the visceral feel of ICE cars can be adapted to an...
I did not have your problem, but I did have a problem with my mirrors.

Ultimately, the brake recall fix resolved it, but had I not been due for that fix, I’m sort sure how I would have resolved...
Tuning Dynamics has quoted $300 for a bench unlock. $135 for 3 dyno runs, FYI. Leaning towards them - just waiting for my Ecutek package to arrive.
Thanks for the heads up!

I went with gloss black ones from Amazon. Fit with no issues. The gloss black is a slightly different shade of gloss black compared to the rest of the mirror assembly but only noticeable up close, in mid day light, and to those sensitive to subtle things.

Went with the small ones included in this item. Less than $10 shipped.

I had the HP+ pads on my GTI thinking the same thing. After bedding on the street and driving around, seemed great. After one track day, it was squeal city. Swapped them out as soon as I could. My GTI has the performance pack brakes (larger Golf R brakes), stoptech slotted rotors, and RBF600...
Can confirm the HP+ pads are unbearably noisy on the street. Like “looks like you can’t afford new brakes” noisy.
I have yet to see a pad that can handle street + “track” (not autocross) duty and not make all the race car noises that come with the track on the street.
I went catted because I didn’t want the smell.
Was catless in my drift 350z, but that was mainly track only (besides commute).
CO causes brain damage over time and I’m paid to think. We all are in ways, aren’t we?
I don’t believe catless causes any issues on this platform, but to those saying...
~$4,300 with ~$2k set aside for upcoming mods.
I appreciate the commitment some of you have towards a pricey and unique build.
Does anyone else have mental limits around what they’ll spend to mod (mod - not track fees, consumables, etc.)? I start to hit a barrier when the car price+mod costs...
