True when it's actually making an 11-second run... but sometimes you have to get out of the car and look back and cringe. You have a Nocturnal... so you don't have nearly the visual impact that those with lighter/brighter colors face. It's a minor detail for sure... but it just screams "cheap...
EDIT: OK done... I'll throw some impressions on here once it arrives and goes on. I prefer the simple aesthetic, but found the other (cheaper) fixes to be inadequate. Hopefully this will be the best of both worlds.
You can customize it to have the best of both worlds. I have mine start in Sport but with damping and transmission set to Normal... good gas mileage, smooth ride, but tighter steering and better exhaust notes.
Edit: LOL @zrk beat me by a few seconds.
I'm sure the GR86 will be lots of fun as well... just a slower version of it. ? Seriously though, congrats on getting one, they really are a fun platform and I'll envy your third pedal (not enough to switch, but still).
I coded mine that way long ago. I keep the damping and transmission in "Normal" however - so I still get good mileage and avoid unnecessary engine strain when just commuting. When actually having fun I'm always in manual mode anyway so it's a non-issue (or I switch to Sport+ mode if not).
Beyond the BMW sensor being essentially crap... ;) I'd guess (just like the fuel) that there is a bit of 'slack' at the top and bottom limits of the sensor for safety sake. I don't mean in the sense that it's safe to ignore - but rather they programmed it to avoid idiots trying to always top...
I'm a bit confused by the price sheet... so you just replaced 1 tweeter and 2 of the 4" mids? Are the .75 tweeters sold in pairs? To add to that, in their tweet is seems just one and one?!? :dunno:
Everything else makes sense but that seemed odd to me. Looking forward to seeing pics soon, and...
Sounds almost exactly like my experience with my initial attempt at getting the MKV. Wound up losing a sale at full MSRP (needless to say I really wanted to get my car that day). Three different offers which "magically" changed after agreement to be $5K-10K more.
I was about 5 minutes away...
Unless they blew it up on the dyno that is... ;) I know people these days will dump thousands into something for a youtube video and then sell it the next month - but there has to be some reason to do all that and then take a loss on the whole thing that soon! Hopefully, they're just bad with...
Wasn't aware they'd made it into an anime... but I'm not surprised. Reading the manga of that one. It is funny, but I have a somewhat limited tolerance for repetition in harem plotlines. If it weren't for my tsundere fetish, the fourth girl would have killed it for me. Since she's tsun... now...
Yes... between work and renovating a house, I've been too busy to order my QuickJack yet. I'll eventually switch over to doing my own, but in the meantime - yes, I go to BMW shop rather than Toyota - at least when I'm paying the bill that is.
Obviously I'll still go to the dealership for...
Did they maybe do an alignment at the same time? That would be about right for both... but way too high for just an oil change. Really shouldn't be that high even for that... but stealership prices it probably would be. My shop is only $150 for an alignment but I think the dealership said it...
Ouch... I stopped going to the dealership for that, but even if I did, I think it was going to be about 1/3 that price. I prefer the experience at my local BMW specialty shop. Not only did it only take less than an hour from arrival to departure on a busy day... it was priced exactly as...
Exactly. I'm sure if it were an experienced BMW tech... it would be a momentary delay - but at the Toyota dealership it's suddenly a case of "OMG... there's an error I don't understand. Well, I'm out of ideas... I guess it can't be done."
It makes sense for a comprehensive...
Considering the 2 pieces of contrary information come second hand from techs that are likely the same ones that bricked the ECU's in the first place - I'm more inclined to believe a "mediocre tuner" on the issue. I've seen too many stories of dealerships replacing whole rafts of parts on the...
@dazza - as far as the recall, I think it simply checks for the existence of all expected "peripherals" to the head unit as part of it's preparation phase. AFAIK there isn't any part of the update which specifically targets the amp, ASD, etc. - but I guess it queries the canbus for some reason...
We live in a world of hyperbole now... how many "Breaking News" stories can there actually be in a single day? The financial news is always talking about the market's "plummeting value" (i.e. ~1% losses) or "soaring rally" (i.e. ~1% gains). Everything including the color of your shirt is some...
