I think you should do it.
Imagine the publicity you would get, especially if you beat Papadakis and anyone else. Also, it would be amazing to finally have something to shut the haters up.
Eh, I don't know about that. These guys were pushing the limits pretty hard, so I'm not surprised that they blew the motor. I'm certain they knew that going into this.
As we mentioned months ago, though, swapping an engine is not a simple as measuring to make sure it fits and plopping it in. You would have to make a 25 year old engine play nice with the suspension, the rear diff, the transmission, the gauges, the DME, etc. Not to mention the fact that even if...
So I heard mutterings from Visconti the HPFP is strong enough to support E85, or nearly that high. Is that true? Also is there a chance of wear due to decreased lubrication?
Lastly, what's the highest horsepower you think you'll be able to get? I saw some tuners in Germany managed about 480whp...
Man, I totally would except I've been stuck out of state and traveling for some time. I'm actually in Chattanooga right now. Anyways, I've just been away too much and I haven't had the time to go and buy a light bar to do the photos. But it's OK, yours are great.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but flow testing only tests the valves? Not really the actual port? Because the issue with this head is you have 12 valves all bleeding into 2 small-ish holes.
The one redeeming thing I can think of is that we always have the other B58 head to turn to if that becomes necessary for high horsepower.
EDIT: Here is the flow from the test, also Stephen said in some comment that the flow was OK, not great.
Basically, yes. They read a few other things and I think they may be able to change some timing stuff? (not sure on that). Either way, I would not recommend it for you because your car sees the track. The flash tunes are much more predictable and smoother.
Yep, you will have to have the dealer do it, you cannot make an account yourself. Unless things have changed, any dealer should be able to unlock the nav.
