The entire stock intake system on these cars seem to be damn near perfect and well thought out. I knew I wasn't going to get a full intake but I was going to get a charge pipe, I may reconsider because a lot of people have complained about them popping off if you're tuned.
Would like a larger...
What drop in filter brand do you guys recommend? I'm coming from the motorcycle world so idk what's good as far as cars go. I figured since K&N was a well known brand that they were a good choice lol
My filter was over oiled as well. Noticed a good amount of red liquid on the bottom of the stock air box but none of it got sucked up into the air tube. I still have the stock filter so I may revert back to that since you put the thought of k&n filters being trash into my head lol.
I thought the same thing but after market enclosed intakes that make use of the factory air dam don't have any sort of water barrier. Not exactly sure where the air dam opening is behind the bumper but I can't see water getting in there unless you're speeding during a rainstorm lol.
Mine twitches as well and the stop/start button along with the lights on the shifter blink in sync with the twitching. I have over 4k miles on my car and it's tuned and there doesn't appear to be any driveability issues. Just a mild annoyance when I can hear the wipers after walking away from...
Are you referring to the triangle indicators in the mirror itself or the led strip on the outside of the side mirrors? If the latter, it's normal, if the former, wat?
The triangle indicators are only supposed to illuminate when someone's in your blindspot.
I had already installed a K&N drop in filter which increased the throttle response but no increase in sound. I didn't get on it when I drove it after the baffle delete but I'll see if hear a difference tomorrow.
I didn't oil it at all, didn't even realize it was a pre oiled filter until I looked at my order lol.
I did take the airbox apart however cause I was installing a cap for the sound dampener on the stock box and the oil doesn't appear to have gone up into the MAF. It is pretty hot where I live...
So I recently installed a K&N drop in filter and lifted it up today to find a small amount of some type of red liquid. I've cleaned it with a towel but I'm wondering what the heck it could be. I wiped where the air dam is and that was completely clean so it doesn't seem to have come from...
Just feels more responsive, not necessarily faster overall. I recall seeing a post on here where a tuner shop did a before and after Dyno comparison on a tuned MKV with a drop in and it gained 7whp. I doubt there would be any benefits on a non tuned car since the ECU will keep everything within...
