Welcome aboard! I live in Gainesville and work in Manassas so I'm local. I haven't done any of the updates you're considering but I have done wheel spacers, swapped brake pads and done some coding. If you want to see how they all turned out let me know.
Hey DrRay. Did you swap out your pads to something else? Or leaving them stock? I moved to the Powerstops and what a difference in noise reduction and smoothness. Cant speak to brake dust yet as its only been 20-30 miles of driving. I would assume the R1s would provide the same benefits as...
Hey Chris. There is a manual car wash in Manassas on Rt 234 business. And I think there is another on Godwin drive as well. I have not used them, but if I remember right, there are (or at least used to be) manual bays.
Hey Thanks for that. I am closest to Miller Manassas or Miller Warrenton. I called the Manassas location and the customer service person says they have worked on "a few". But, candidly, he didn't inspire a lot (or any) confidence. Thanks for your thoughts.
My bad. I actually have the full CF dash pieces - not the stickers. I’ve had them so long I forgot where I got them from! But if anyone knows how those square corner dash top pieces pop out, I appreciate them sharing the knowledge.
Hey Teashea. I bought the FT Speed CF square vent pieces that go in each corner of the dash. Have you installed those? If so, could you tell me how you popped the originals out? Thanks!
I think the lure is all over this car! I’ve had more fun with the Supra (coding, wheel spacers, carbon fiber bits, driving!) than any car I’ve ever owned. But, yeah, you’re right!
Shout out to CarGuy11. Man, I can thank you enough on the coding! Have to admit that I was a little nervous changing a 50k car, but what a difference! Probably adjusted a dozen things including the big three of dim lighting, auto stop/start and active speaker sounds.
Yes it is! It’s really been a fun car. Loved them when I graduated from college in the late 80s. But student loans took precedence. Wanted one ever since. Owned and restored it over the last 7 years.
Got it! Thanks so much! I wanted to do this project for a while now and finally found some time. The "short quick" …..well you know...that was the key. Thanks again.
Thanks for such a quick response! I did remove the rubber piece and both screws. And I've tried pulling straight up on the piece in yellow above by grabbing it underneath near the seatbelt receivers. It wont budge. Does it require a ton of effort? I am pulling up quite firmly. Am I missing...
Hey Tadda. Is there any secret to pulling up the piece with the cupholders in it? I am assuming the "entire piece" includes the leather surrounding the cupholders as well? I tried lifting with equal pressure on both sides by grabbing on the bottom of the leather underneath and pulling up, but...
Congrats! I have the same color. I thought the pics of the Hudson looked familiar. I grew up around there. Its beautiful this time of year if you take the time to appreciate it. Enjoy your Supra!
