Indeed, we have Garmin dash cams in all three of our cars, won't leave home without them
Sorry about your car though, hopefully the damage isn't too bad
Agreed. I was amazed at how well the traction control behaved with my 295 RT660s compared to the stock tires, this is how it always should have worked. With VSC on full on the stock tires, it would still get a bit sideways and then the ECU would overreact and cut power for a couple seconds...
90% of the time everything stays on for me. The other 10% it's in "traction mode", that is just one short press on the VSC button. I never turn it all completely off except when doing a log for the tuner since they don't want any nannies interfering with the system.
1.1 - DME is just another name for the ECU, same thing. It's locked because that's the direction OEMs are going. Companies are working on ways to unlock it, there's one option out of Russia but that can be tricky with the current state of the world. Others are working on it as well but as far...
@stacyoz has a nice guide here:

Page 9 of the pdf has a list of the most common changes people make, #1 is the screen brightness fix.
Agreed
And it's not just the look, the last one weighed nearly 4000 lbs and had 280 hp. If they want to compete with the C8, it needs to be a completely new design, not a resurrection of the same boat they had before.
I had a 2001 Nissan Sentra, then in parallel with that I got a 2005 WRX STi, then I traded in the Sentra for a 2012 WRX, then last year I traded in the STi for the Supra. So I guess you could say the last 2 cars before the Supra were a 2012 WRX and 2005 STi, but I still have the WRX.
I keep my...
I tried them a while back in an attempt to reduce wheel hop. I made it about 2 miles into my test drive before I had to turn around and jack the car back up to figure out what on Earth I screwed up. I couldn't find anything, so I went back out for a drive, 2 miles later I turned back around...
Dynos measure torque, not horsepower. HP is derived from torque and RPM. The Supra’s peak torque is much higher, so nothing’s getting clipped, it must just be a coincidence.
Why would they do that? It's honestly baffling to me, just make the base $41k with an LSD and I suspect it would sell much better. I think they were just trying to force it under the $40k bar and had to start stripping off everything they could to get it there.
I suspect it would be even slower. I know the reviewer in that video was dogging on the Z's tires, but the Potenza S007 are better tires than the Pilot Super Sport. They're rated higher for dry traction and have more aggressive compound/treadwear. Stick a set of PSSs on the Z and it'll...
Oof
So let me get this straight. The Z has the same peak whp, significantly less torque, weighs 2-300 lbs more, has worse suspension, god awful interior, and costs basically the same amount? Did I get all that right? Oh, and the Z has a fully open deck block, just to piss off anyone who...
Good looking - highly questionable, I think it looks like garbage from the front personally, the back does look nice though
Low monthly payments - 400 hp without a limited slip is fucking stupid, and if you want a limited slip you're paying more or less the same price as a 3.0 Supra for a...
I don't either. Car collaborations happen all the damn time, why do they focus so much attention on this one? Did FR-S owners have to put up with idiots yelling "NiCe SuBaRu!" at them everywhere? Or the 3000 GT / Dodge Stealth, or Eclipse / Eagle Talon, or any of the other hundreds of...
Electrical Engineer
I work for an atmospheric research company, we mostly build scientific instrumentation to measure the upper atmosphere (50 km and higher). So I do a lot of hardware, firmware, and software design for science payloads for satellites, and some power/control stuff as well.
