~ Thanks!
The garage is insulated but not heated. Drops to a low of 38 degrees in the garage at the coldest outdoor temps.
The tires are sitting at 45 lbs and the e-brake isn’t set.
All good & thanks again! ?
~ Yes I do so at one of the diy quarter car washes in town (hot soap & water along with good pressure). I wash the engine at least once a month along with the underside of the hood. No issue are created with the soap or water.
No degreaser or cleaners are necessary.
I also don’t recommend...
~ I just use the soap and rinse setting at the quarter diy carwash (adequate pressure and a flexible wand is key).
Then when the wheels are off I use a quick detailer (Chemical Guys V07 Hybrid Spray) and hand wipe the areas with a microfiber towel. No dressing used on the plastic areas.
Well the time has come to park the Supra for another Ohio winter.
Prior to storing the car I wanted to complete a full detail and cleaning. I know I’m over the top (prior owner of an auto detailing business). Therapeutic to me.
Power washed the engine, wheel wells, wash, wax, tire rotation...
Dealer up sells… decline all (nearly pure profit for the dealer).
Don’t fall victim of the high pressure sales in the finance office. This is where the real money is made for the dealer.
NO, NO & NO!!!
I suggest using a durable thin metal putty tool with a wood handle … wedging it between the pad and inner edge of the caliper. Tap the end of the handle gently with a small hammer until the glue lets loose.
~ true but the MDX doesn’t sit low and susceptible to lower front bumper damage. the MDX also has a larger tire side wall and has a better chance of surviving curb rash to the rims. two completely different vehicles to compare when it comes to careless driver error and not to mention the...
I don’t see the possibility of any airflow getting to the front brakes according to the photo unless you cutout the inner black plastic wheel well liner (and then it may just expose the tire thread area).
Additionally, I wouldn’t want to see partial white paint (guess it could be painted black)...
Our freeways are the worst with all of the new construction in our city. I do all I can to stay off the freeway except for Sunday’s when the dump trucks are primarily off the roads.
~ You won’t have any issues. I’ve been running my Z16 for 6,000 miles.
The pressure of the caliper pistons and the pins hold them securely in place. The factory glue is just to eliminate the possibility for any pad chatter.
