yes, TCM does the grunt of the work for shifting by design. throttle input and etc does have an influence.
Im assuming based on your issue description that you are experiencing very fast upshifting at low vehicle speed. Like 7th/8th gear at like 40mph or so?
In case anyone else asks. This can be done on the street or dyno just like our actual flash tunes.

My statement still stands. The jb4 does not have the amount of control and safeties as the factory ecu.
Get a flash leave the jb4 for those who literally can't flash the ecu.
Yea if you already have ecutek and Reflex. There no point in trying to jump to BM3. Because BM3 doesn't support Reflex.
It you wanted to switch to something else for whatever reason. It's MHD since you wouldn't have to buy another complete controller for port control.
But you have ecutek...
they fell behind due to issues after updates and generally lacking in some features thats others offer. its not bad. but there are definitely better platforms to use.
I have my own xdfs and damos. I can use any table on ecu at any given time.
Even still, the public xdfs are enough to make a lot of power if one chooses without issue. What exactly are you looking for that makes you weary or think it can't be done?
i am a TUNER. and use several platforms to tune all the cars that i choose to support. some of which arent even in the BMW realm. I tuned on BM3 for a long time when they first released. Although i havent in recent times done custom tunes using BM3 (by choice). I still constantly answer help...
you would need to ask BM3. I believe they are about to release their Rev2 board at some point this month or next. Rev2 is their offering to compete with the Reflex+ controller. As for the other custom code features under the hood. that im not sure,so definitely a question for BM3 to answer.
oh ok, Ecutek, BM3, MHD all can make the same power.
Currently with some new releases from MHD though, they pushed the envelope further with MHD+ by doing some custom code work to fix (extend) the airflow limits of the factory DME to allow more proper tuning at very high power and airflow...
Ok, you added more context after I replied.
I'm not taking anything away from Dz, I was there in N54 cobb days as well. And I know him.
It just seemed like you were making it like the OTS maps were better or worse based on them having an
Employee tuner on the payroll. Which I didn't agree...
it still literally does not matter.
https://hc-performance.com/
thats halims own company.
insinuating that the OTS is better because one tuner is paid under the main company makes no sense is my main point.
