Awesome! I am pumped this is such an annoyance for me. Android Auto (hell I'd take wired even!) is one of my pet peeves (still kind of want a manual too =)
Yea I was in the blue Supra in the instructor's tent area since I couldn't find parking in the group 2 section haha. But was fun hanging out with the instructors
Yep, I was there Saturday - did not see that Supra - we had no incidents for any car as far as I could tell. Few went off track in group 3, but they were quickly reminded in the download meeting to drive the line and that most went off because they had shit lines.
I was in the blue Supra Group...
Def encourage it. If you have never tracked before, this group does a great job of introducing it to you in a pretty safe manner (lead follow with instructors). If you have experience, you can and should bump to group 2 or 3.
I spoke to them a month ago and they have stated they have no official Supra support so this could explain the low performance. Fingers crossed we get something really good soon.
What I meant about cars being too fast wasn't about capabilities, so maybe I misspoke.
What i meant was that, since cars these days are so fast and boosted, the constant pull + sound of really fast shifts that the automatics provide is actually a lot of fun and offsets the "throwing gears" fun...
Said this before in other threads, but probably worth it again.
I was a manual purist for a while and held off buying a Supra because of the Auto. Had MANY manual cars - 350z, MK4 Supra, M3s, 1m Coupes, 981 GTS, 987.2 Cs, 993 911, s2000, ND2 etc.
I seriously cross shopped this with an M2C 6...
Interesting. Can others confirm this works? I actually chatted with them and they said their products do not work with Supras (I was disapointed), but would be so happy if this lets me have Android Auto...
I posted in your other thread. For me it came down to a few things when I cross shopped the M2c and the Supra
1) This is my weekend car. As such I wanted as focused of a drivers experience as I could. Supra with it seating much lower, having a cockpit feel was more fun. If you need a back...
One thing that swayed me to the Supra over the M2C is the seating/driving position.
M2C was fun for sure, but It was just odd being able to look at the top of the hood all of the time lol. Sitting in the Supra did feel more like a cockpit. /Shrug just me, I thought the supra was more fun than...
I wouldn't go morning of from the Bay. I am from the Penninsula and for Thill I always stay the night before. It's just too much driving up morning of, doing a full day, then going home. Only places I can go morning of are Sonoma and Laguna.
Just my 2 cents.
+1 here. Also considered an M2c because it had a 6 speed and normally I am a "purist" 6 speed for life person.
But the 6 speed in the M2c just wasn't fun. These modern turbos really do better it seems with DCT/Autos. The Supra to me was much more fun with the lower seating position etc.
I'll...
has anyone tried this? I am pretty pissed right now that I can't use android auto. The stock nav is shit and I am not an iOS user and won't switch because of this car.
Few questions: I just got mine:
1) Anyone confirm that this actually reduces eng temps?
2) Does water getting into the hood area cause any concern? This leads to the inner part of the hood, which doesn't have the same protection - is this opening up the possibilites of rust or other issues.
3)...
