Of course Toyota isn't going to tell us their roadmap. I just think the "if there is enough demand" statement is a development cop-out. If we buy the base model it says that we are fine with the base model, and if we don't it says there wasn't enough demand to build the model we wanted in the...
But their marketing gets people in the door. Toyota saying things "more than 300hp" and "it will not be a cheap car" are incredibly lackluster statements for a car with this amount of hype. This truly doesn't bother me because numbers don't mean anything at the end of the day, but they failed to...
The corvette won't catch any flak for it because they actually know how to market a car by coming out guns blazing instead of saying "we may give you all what if you buy the model you don't want first"
Because it being partnered with BMW is incredibly irrelevant to the number if interior colors and without the partnership Toyota isn’t known for having tons of options either.
I don't think I have seen a review that picks the base Cayman over the Supra.
AutoExpress chose the Cayman S over the Supra and TopGear reviewed the Cayman GTS but those trims are significantly more expensive to be compared IMO.
The parts diagrams for the Supra are no longer on RealOem.com but you can cross reference z4 seat bottom frames to 1 series, 2 series (fwd models), X2s, Clubman, and Countryman frames
Especially with a tune, a lot of people will be more than happy with a 300-325whp car that’s fun to drive around. Although I don’t think I would buy one, I can see why someone would.
If the Ecoboost Mustang had a Japanese badge, it would be the hottest tuner car on the marker. 310hp 350lb-ft 6mt (or a very capable 10at) coupe for under $30k that is tuneable is the Japanese car people have been wanting for years
The 302hp version only comes transversely mounted and doesn't make any sense to be placed to closely to the B58 in the model lineup. I don't see a scenario it doesn't have the 255hp version like the Z4 30i and A90 SZ-R
