The difference is that those engines were competitive.
The worst part is that they have competitive motors developed, but they are in the wrong vehicles.
2021 GT4's, GTS 4.0's, and Spyder's have optional PDK

I’m was really only talking about the 3.0, not the 2.0. There is no performance benefit, but it’s not about performance.
You have it reversed, the GT4 was only 6MT
I don’t think you’re understanding what I’m saying.
I’d rather having a slow manual than one a manual that is geared too tall to rev out.
And of course manuals are slower than autos, we don’t have to address it in every comment
I don't understand why Toyota is so apprehensive about putting the V35a in anything but the LS right now. I know there are several projects in the pipeline but this motor has been out for almost 3 years now. This doesn't just impact the IS but they could have had performance SUVs in '500' and/or...
Not all manuals are created equal. They would be stupid to gear the 6mt for 0-60 times. It makes the gearing too tall and actually ruins the driving engagement it sets out to achieve.
More like "how much can I mark up this car?"
I was more referring to ///M GmbH saying that to Toyota since they are almost an entirely separate entity from BMW and have no obligation to give them motors. The 200 motors shuts up Toyota about having a S58 Supra
I am apprehensive as well. I don’t see why he would leak this info when 200 cars is hardly enough to be excited about since they will be so hard to be able to buy. Also it would show who wears the pants here since 200 units seems like a “f*ck you, quit asking” amount.
Even if rumors don’t suggest it, I think there’s a high possibility of atleast a 300hp and 400hp variant at launch since they have already been emissions tested and are ready to go.
I am not following. Are you questioning the legitimacy of the 300hp Z being a 6 cylinder? I don't think Nissan has a longitudinal 4 cylinder anymore since they are no longer using the Mercedes 4 cylinder. It isn't out of the realm of possibility that they develop one, but given Nissan's current...
A Supra is whatever car they put the badge on. It was Tada who put a strict definition on the Supra is 'supposed' to be. The FT-HS, a V6 hybrid, could have been the 5th gen Supra if it weren't for a recession.
The Z also didn’t have great gearing for a high(er) revving NA motor. It’s way too long to bang gears and made the car feel lazy unless you’re redlining it. The VR30’s powerband will take advantage of these ratios much better as evident by the CD009 having similar ratios to the V160.
