I would personally rather buy the car I want and pay a premium for a good extended warranty than settle on a car just for the sake of reliability. If Japanese luxury brands were more competitive with German offerings this would be a different story
An interesting conversation regarding BMW’s future 6MT models is going on right now on BimmerForums. Definitely worth reading

I think the 2.0 will be a temporary entry in the US since we are between generations of the 86 and are awaiting the GRMN model. I think the 2.0 will then be dropped after the new 86 arrives since there is very little reason to buy this car.
For now this gives Toyota a car in the ~$40k range to...
He said P58, not B58. P motors are a step above S motors.
I am assuming the P58 is an S58 with a dry sump like how the P63 in the previous M6 GT3 was basically an S63 with a dry sump.
Unrelated but the A90's styling would be greatly improved with a hood line that low
Of course I am over analyzing this, depending on the scenario its rather a really good or rather annoying trait of mine. I am pretty sure a big contingency of the partnership is having sports cars that don't compete with one another which is why I think it is important.
We also don't know if...
The M2 was $55k in 2018, and the M2C is $60k with virtually no markups. Next gen will be a little more but still rather close to A90 pricing, potentially even cheaper than the GRMN.
Rear seats are a big differentiator, but not enough to be the only differentiators
Yeah 200 is stupid low, it...
That doesn’t change my point though, overlap is a bad thing.
It actually goes into another question of mine in how Toyota plans on retaining Supra enthusiasts long term. Traditionally a halo car brings exposure to a company with hopes of selling them a more affordable or practical model and...
The 2 series and M2 will be more engaging than the current models like the rest of G generation BMWs which was the edge the Supra had. I think if the real only difference being the backseat, that’s not enough to set them apart.
I just don’t see how you can have so many coupes with the same 30i...
I’m simply comparing similarly equipped models to gauge potential price, I never mentioned performance anywhere.
That doesn’t change my question though whether it’s the M2 or M4. They will still have to differentiate themselves on the market
Price tag in which way? The M240i was only $5k less than the 40i Supra and assuming it increases in price like all cars do in the next generation, the Supra 3.0 and M240i should be around the same price. I would expect the same thing with the GRMN and M2 which is why my question arises
The 2021 is better than the current M2, but I’m talking about the new M2 coming in 2022.
I never said anything about numbers, I just asked how they will be different
