Not liking a car because who makes it is a valid reason. Toyota had the benefit of the doubt since they were the only one in Japan producing something new.
It definitely a prototype that is for sure! But it has so much potential.
It seems like they are having issues integrating the black pillars into the hood, which wouldn't stick out so much if it were paint matched like on the 370z. I am not really sure how they will solve this without lowering...
The photoshop car really shows that the kink under the door needs some work.
The rocker area of the car would look a lot better with a shape like this but with the lip part painted black like on the Z proto. I can't photoshop but I think this is due to the sideskirt tapering too much as it...
The rear diffuser definitely needs to be more square to match the line under the tail light. Conversely, the grille needs to be less square and cue from the Nismo 370z with a trapezoid grille but without extending it all the way to the bottom
Didn't they say even before release that they have been testing a manual A90?

The narrative could have been “Supra vs Corvette: Which one will you buy?” if the Supra was targeting the expected competition. Yeah the bar was set high and didn’t live up to the concept perceived performance, and Toyota should have expected that consider the car was teased as a super car. It’s...
You didn't.
I am just making the claim the Tada San would have steered it in the direction. I am not arguing nor disagreeing with anything you said, just adding to the context of why the Corvette stole the Supra's thunder on release
I highly recommend seeing it in person. Just like the Supra...
I didn't say you were. I am just saying that an engine in the rear doesn't mean it is enough to blow people away. Judging Tada by the way he talks about the Cayman, the car would have still been a Cayman competitor and not have lived up to the expectations of the same crowd that think it is a...
It didn't need to have the engine behind the driver to blow people away though. The GTR did the same in the previous decade with performance that rivaled exotics for a lot less money.
In some ways they should have listened to him but in others they shouldn't have.
The corvette was already mid engined and didn't follow suit with the development of the A90 so I don't think they are explicitly following Chevrolet here
I still think it would be strange if this car has the engine behind the driver. During development of both the Supra and LFA Toyota said they put the engine in front of the driver since it is more predictable for drivers at the limit. Perhaps a combination of both Supra and MR2 by going...
BMW has hybrid I6s as well if they were going to go down that path. They also have a contract with BorgWarner for electric turbos that we will see in whatever the 8 series mule we saw a couple weeks ago
Edit: Expect a 500+hp hybrid I6 in the next coming years in other BMW models...
It has been a little while and I think it would be a good time to re address comments by BMW insider Lemetier here and here about the GRMN model.
Judging by this B58 and ZF transmissions are out of the question.
Also because Toyota is the applicant for Emissions Certificate, at minimum...
