Can’t wait to see it and hear your impressions. You owe it to yourself to do an auto-x or two with it. You’ll be amazed at how capable that platform is, and the 2.4l should make it even more fun (mine was supercharged).
I hope it comes out just because I love driving MT, and more options in a world that’s perennially moving on to autos, DCT, and CVTs is always a good thing for enthusiasts.
That said, I won’t be shitting myself to sell my car and replace it with a manual Supra.
Even if it *were* only for the...
Anecdotal evidence at best, and I’m sure I’ll get skewered for sharing this, but I did notice a power bump after getting my catted AA DP installed. The turbo spools a little quicker and the car is a little more likely to spin its tires. This is when driving after picking it up - same ambient air...
I believe the leather in the Supra is what BMW calls “Dakota leather”. It’s a highly processed leather but still animal sourced. I prefer cars without leather as well. The seatback and bottom cushion centers are Alcantara on the special editions and 2.0, but as others have mentioned, there are...
Supra looks so good in white. The Maxton
makes a nice subtle change to the aggressiveness of the front. Love it.
Spray-on PPF, I hadn’t heard of that.
Beautiful car.
+1 on the suspension (though I upgraded my roll bars).
Another thought about the 86: there’s no doubt it feels a bit sharper, and it does have that 10/10ths quality, which makes it more playful on the street. The Supra has a playful chassis but I’m pretty restrained on the street because the...
I’m perfectly content with my ZF, but for me, having come from the previous gen 86, I’d have to say lack of refinement in the interior and with the ride. And the sound of that engine, it doesn’t sound anything like as good as the Supra.
When the Supra first came out I was disappointed that it wasn’t offered with a manual. After driving it for almost a year now, I can honestly say I’m very, very happy with the ZF. It’s pretty remarkable in it’s ability to be super crisp on most upshifts when you’re up it, yet so smooth when you...
Hey all,
For those of you who have the Rexspeed interior dress up kit, what do you think of the quality? Do they look OEM and upgrade the look of the interior?
Thanks for the feedback!
What are you talking about?
After the recall fix my car has a 480hp twin turbo 3JZ (tunable, no less) 7 speed MT, is 250lbs lighter, and _the best part_ no creaks or wind buffeting.
Ya’ll need to take it to a qualified dealership.
