I paid for my BMW mechanic friend to do it. The front is straight forward, but the rear requires the subframe to be dropped a bit (and supported by a jack). I’m sure people have managed w/o a lift, but I bet it’s kinda a pain.
No warranty worries.
Why are you selling?
Did you get to track them?
How do they ride compared to stock?
Do you have the adaptive damper “cancellation” module to sell as well? (Not thinking of what this is called off the top of my head)
Huh, I didn’t read it that way.
I read that it’s a 6/10ths kinda car - and that’s not something stickier tires fix.
The OG 86 had shite tires and is hilarious fun. My nearly dead PSS on the Supra are only still on because (here in the PNW) we’ve been getting so much rain, it allows me to...
I’ve never had emergency braking kick in, but the Supra definitely can accelerate very hard (especially with a downshift or two). It closes gaps in freeway traffic so quickly that anyone who isn’t paying complete attention could easily be caught out by shit luck/slippery roads and have a bad...
Bigger F/R sways make a world of difference in reducing body roll + improving turn in. I hammer my car over some country backroads that sometimes have potholes that want to swallow my car, and I appreciate keeping my ride height stock at this point.
I just wanted to throw this out there regarding the argument that only MT cars are “real enthusiast cars” (whatever the fuck that means)….
Prior to the Supra, all of my performance cars were MT, and even a few non-performance vehicles (like my old FJ Cruiser with a 6MT - cool truck). None of...
At the car wash the other day the person who (presumably) makes sure the car is lined up threw out the “is that a Supra” comment while I was checking in, then proceeded to practically fall over trying to check it out from every angle. ?
As others have said, the blind spot monitors are helpful (and you can adjust the range). I always still double-check and try to maintain good situational awareness. When in doubt, a healthy application of throttle doesn’t hurt either! ?
It’s funny how the PSS is suddenly “arguably the best street tire” when people here (and many other forums) have been shitting on it for years. I suspect some people are confused and think the Supra comes with PS4S.
PSS is an old tire at this point.
One advantage we do have is that it is a...
I’m guessing they got what they could get to rush out a comparo. But either way, the MT vs AT bit mostly affects acceleration and engagement. The reviewers weren’t harping on the Z for being slow.
“If you think of this prizefight as "Ringer vs. Retiree," it doesn't seem quite fair. And it isn't. But this is the matchup that people want to see, and who are we to deny them?”
“To wrap it all up in a final boxing metaphor, the Z is swinging wildly hoping for a lucky knockout, while the Supra...
No difference in comfort that I can discern. As usual with poly bushings, the first few bumps can make a ”creaking” sound until the poly warms up a little. This is much more noticeable when it’s below 50*F, and usually stops after 2-3 bumps.
Highly recommended mod!
