^ I said the same thing, but I deleted it after reading his post again and thought maybe he was referring to the 4cyl only.
Either way, a $40k 4cyl Supra with 255hp is a tough sell for me. At 280hp, and assuming it would dyno that to the wheels, it would be much better but it's still kinda...
I see it being the 255hp version as well given the SZ-R, and seeing as how the 55k pricing Tada gave me like 3 years ago stuck I'd say the ~$40-45k figure for the 4cyl would also remain true (base>full loaded).
That gives you the perfect price stack (with ~5k+ variance in optioning):
$27k 86...
interesting, so they did end up deciding to bring the 4cyl over. I wonder if they will offer the manual as well...
Guess I'll have to go ask some questions lol
I was able to take one of the cars out on one of the test tracks for about 3hrs, and I wasn't a fan of brake feel either once I got some heat into them. Thankfully, we had some upgraded pads on hand (I thought they were in-dev TRD, but my friend said they might be HKS) in one of the other cars...
yeah, driveline stuff breaking is always a function of tq, but that said for a long time the relationship between whp and tq was generally a stable one (hence I forget to clarify, and I see a lot of others doing the same). these days though, perhaps not so much especially given where it's coming...
Exactly. More torque, more instant, and sooner in the powerband.
So, in that light, the B58 may already be every bit as stout in stock form even if it starts having issues around that same level as it makes power in a similar fashion.
The older JZ setups had less of an issue due to the...
egh, 650-700whp if you're beating on it/tracking it (—I think this is more you Ryley), but I had a few friends at 8-900whp for a few years as highway cars (no issues).
eventually they will let go, but they are pretty incredible that way.
now, that said, I've heard that number is lessening due...
make the sticker/decal fit that entire blank space and it will look far better. or get someone to make a small carbon insert with a spot for the sticker.
no reason to get an entirely different wheel if you dont want to.
From what I've seen, I'd do RK Tunes. The results speak for themselves IMO.
Coming from older Supras and what piggybacks represent (tricking factory computer etc), I'm not a big fan, but then again this is BMW software vs Toyota so perhaps that makes the difference.
That said, there is the...
Lol, there is a comical amount of confusion around this and I'd like to clarify what it is, but it will be far funnier if I just let it keep going.
A simple power bump might not mean a lot to most, I mean especially with how easy it is to make power with bolt ons, but what about everything else :)
Still working on three projects on the Lexus side atm, so I haven't had much exposure to the newer Supra stuff aside from the engineering grapevine. Either way I haven't driven it yet.
It should be worth it though from all I've heard, but it always depends on what you want out of a car. Do you...
