When I lived primarily in the US back in the day, I noticed traffic started getting worse around 2011 (it dropped off a ton after GFC in at least this particular metro area). I then visited in 2014 and it had gotten far worse, but when I went back to visit last year it was horrendously bad...
it's definitely annoying, and it also makes merging/changing lanes more difficult IMO. People will try to block a car far more than a truck/SUV, at least in the places im driving.
It's one of the reasons I went to the LX570 after trading in the Q50RS.
that's definitely interesting and looks to explain why the information is all over the place lol
but either way, all of the mkvs should be dual stage like most everything else out there, especially since it's shot with bmw paint (supplier).
Just got a reply from one of the territory managers I know; he said, he unsure of specifics but that there were a few single stage colors in use until at least 2014. A director in sales in TX also just responded that single stage white is still in use.
Some posts on other forums (2009)...
It is possible that Toyota is employing a clear over those codes now, and I cant speak to that as I do not have a current 040 or 202 paint code. My ST202 and both JZA70s are 202 with paint transfer, but they're from the early to mid 90s.
I also had a kouki A80 in 040 bought in like new...
202 and 040 do not have a seperate layer clear coat, and both colors will transfer to a pad during correction.
Jeff and I are both fully aware of what single stage is btw.
^ it sounds like unequal length runners disrupting flow and also resulting in higher EGTs in one bank is what it sounds like. so not very awesome at all IMO
1) it's more advanced and superior as such in some ways, but it's not superior in all ways.
2) complete nonsense that I've debunked before. Whoever started that rumor on the internet is the worst...
3) the only thing German was the V160 and it was indeed amazing.
4) the only engines in recent...
many non-metallic black, white, and red paint jobs were single stage into the mid 2000s and some longer. My '13 FJ cruiser had a single stage black paint job and I believe Toyota still has white and black colors in SS.
^ Yeah, I mean the new Z will essentially just be a lighter/manual Q60RS from what I've read and heard from some friends that work over at Nissan. But hey, that sounds like a win to me haha.
I liked my Q50RS, but with less weight an even a better AT (let alone MT) it would have been far better.
