Yup. It was a different time. Chassis ridgity wasn't even a design consideration back then. Toyota didn't start connecting their front and rear frame rails till the 90s. Theres no mystery if you study the floor pan design of the early cars.
That's Super Streets last minute SEMA car. They got it 2 months before the show before it was out and modded it with what they had lying around pretty much as no parts were available. Its literally a stock car with huge wheels, more or less cut springs, gross seats, subs, an exhaust shop custom...
Did you also compare a mk3 turbo targa with the roof off? Youwould need to redefine your definition of wet poodle if so. Coming from the mk3, the mk4 is a rock with the roof off.
But that was the beauty of the mk4s targa, yes it definitely suffered a loss of rigidity with the roof off, but bolted on, it felt just as stiff as the hard top cars. I'd be curious to see if it actually was, but you'd probably have to do a chassis rigidity test to tell.
Well he did say...
“if they still feel that they need the manual version I hope to hear their feedback and voices after this”.
How do we contact this man? Lol Did that petition ever go anywhere? Let's get some votes on that sucker and ship it to him.
Let's not put all the weight on top. Targas at least you can unbolt it and leave it out of the car. Gets it back to close to the hardtop weight.
I hope Tada doesn't listen to the 3 house wives he talked to complaining about how hard it is to remove the mk4 roof. It really is the best design for...
Yup. Lots of people have noted how dreary the standard interior is compared to the Launch edition 2 tone one. I suspect that, or something like it, will become standard at some point. Maybe a few deviations from obvious BMW switch gear too.
I'm sure it wasn't a Premium car. We have been theorizing that the diff with ours here could be nearly 100lbs, though I think its closer to 50. Also there could be a difference from fluids. They had the car in the shop to strip it down so perhaps that was a fully drained car. Technically OEM...
That one was 1478kg on the corner scales, thats 3260lbs! Could be they drained all of the fluids before weighing though.
And yes, this is awesome. The damn car needs some Japanese parts in it to be a real Supra. Daigo's car sounds awesome at full song.
I'm not sure it's that much more simmy driving model wise, but it's very much focused on the esports/online MP racing side and ignoring most everything else the old GT games were about.
Definitely the best GT game in over a decade, but they fell so far behind Forza they pretty much had to burn...
Not with the current gen, I said previously they could have developed the mk5 off a 2nd gen GT86 chassis and gotten all of those same benefits. A low CG and stiff chassis is exactly the 2 biggest things Toyota went on and on about when the GT came out back in 2011/2012. 6/7 years, it's due for a...
