Fixed headrests suck for that.
Can't really fault them on the cell phone thing, every generation gets bigger. My s6 fit the cubby under the ebrake in my mk2 perfectly. My s9+, not so much.
How big is the gas tank? I thought it was at least 60liters. The car is supposed to get wicked milage, so...
I watched the tear down vid.
Overall it's an interesting motor with some cool tech and it seems to have a lot of strength in the right places. However I am skeptical it will match the 2jz for outright bottom end strength. Even if Toyota had them beef it up, they still wouldn't design the thing...
Possibly, but it doesn't really matter. Toyota does that with all their engines too incl the 2j. The tech installs the piston that fits the hole best. But what we care about here is over bore pistons, which Toyota used to generally releases about 3 ranges of in .5mm increments. However I doubt...
Well it would change with RPM obviously, but I'm guessing on its outer ranges! Certainly more then I was expecting to see with that turbo, especially on the previous 100octane tune.
Yeah that wouldn't surprise me. The dealer in downtown Vancouver just posted up a black with red interior that was available for 71k earlier this week. The add is off CL now so its probably claimed now.
What a front engine c8 would actually look like (not a photoshop)...
IMO they didn't change the c7's design language at all with the c8, they reused it so the big MR shift would feel like less of a drastic change from the last car. The front and rear treatments are so similar.
But that's the primary way one goes about getting better steering feel, run the least amount of assistance possible. A manual rack is King in steering feel, everything else is a step back to some degree. A page back people were lamenting that no Supra or BMW they could think of had steering feel...
C&D was only able to get 4.0 with the LC, they played with launching it manually to get the 3.8. Of course, we have seen other reviewers who managed 4.0 in really good conditions with the LC so their time should be repeatable.
Would still be nice to see the AF graph read off a wideband before the first cat. The dip at 5000rpm is completely missing in this one. It is really hard to get reliable numbers off a divided exhaust too. Back when we had annual emissions tests in the Vancouver area, I would always get the techs...
All I'm saying is I'd like to see some verification of the perf stats they were able to attain, off a production car.
I've seen 4.0 for 0-60 and 12.5 quarter elsewhere so far on stock production cars, which is close enough for regional, altitude and temp conditions to account for the...
Nobody knows! I wish they'd build one so we could answer that lol.
Seriously though, you can argue that the GT86 is a Toyota. Subaru could have never built that car on their own. It's a Toyota built from largely Subaru parts, some pre-existing Toyota ones, and some new Toyota and Subaru ones...
