You looking to hook up as a hotspot for data? That will require registration for a data plan with your phone carrier and then a password will be generated.
If your looking to use screen mirroring, the manual doesn't show that a password is needed.
If anyone is looking for a new jack, I just picked up one from Northern Tool for a good price (normally $180). Sale price $150 + online code for another $30 off. Gets you down to $120. She's definitely beefy! Plus has a super high max lift of 21" if you needed to use it on a SUV or truck...
@Guff were you able to find anything under the Instrument Panel options? I turned on the MPH on the mini-computer board and it worked but it looks redundant to see the speed twice. I did like the bar above it as a guide to divide the gas tank in half for quick reference.
I wouldn't mind...
I've been messing around with the HUD too and haven't had any luck. After scouring the BMW forums I came across one thread that put it into perspective, so I think we are out of luck as you have found out with the coding. The question was asked if they could add the ///M HUD features to their...
This has been my experience too with past BMW ownership. There is no need to code for this as you can manipulate the Sport Mode and Traction buttons to give you the same effect.
I was in expert mode today looking for other things and did come across it. I didn't try it out but I did see it. You have to use the BMW App to make it work.
Headunit >> Expert Mode >> 3006_Navigation >> Up Top In The Search Icon Look For "Lap" >> M_Laptimer will show up >> Default...
I was looking for other codes and came across it today under Expert Mode. I didn't test it out but I grabbed a quick screenshot. Not sure if it will work for you but to get to it go to:
Headunit >> Expert Mode >> 300C_HUD >> HUD_Turnsignal >> Default Value Showed nicht_aktiv (not...
@sbodnar my AFE just arrived the other day. I was going to install it but got tied up. Hopefully I can get to it this week! Thanks for the feedback!
It's weird because I thought it might have been used before. The paint on the outer hole was chipped off a little. I see from your pictures...
Just finished adding the foam and taken her for a spin down the block. I gotta say I'm pretty happy with the overall results! If you're on the fence about doing this mod I highly recommend it! It will make a difference in the sound quality. Thanks for everyone that contributed!
@tadda I gave it some thought but I'm not sure if it will make any improvements. I feel the air flow is pretty good right now. I think by modding this opening it will decrease the rigidity of metal and possibly cause more vibrations. I think dampening the inner chamber made a huge difference...
(3) Rear Lower Deck
This are is pretty straight forward. I just did section strips being sure to not cover any nuts, bolts, wires, etc. You don't have to cover an entire piece of metal with dampening to change the vibration response of the metal. Of course, the more the better, but any...
(2) Sub Port:
Dampened all the inner walls of the sub port. Even added two sheets to the flat top side. You can't see it in the picture but I have circled the area in red.
This is a large piece of flat metal that gets alot of frequencies and air flow sent to it so I doubled up here with...
Finally got around to starting this mod. I tweaked it a little bit since I had the rear gutted last week. Decided to do both sound dampening and foam installation.
Stage 1: Adding sound dampening to: (1) Subwoofer Enclosure (2) Sub Port (3) Rear Lower Deck (4) Rear Trunk Latch Wall
(1)...
Sound Check 4:
Gutted the rear trunk again last week and played around with filtering. Currently, feel that the subs frequency and band pass width is too high for my personal liking (approx 100Hz range). I've heard 6x9 that thump harder than these. Wanted to see if I could fine tune this...

24) You can highlight and select the address to begin navigation. You can also highlight the phone number if you wanted to call them too.
