@tadda that was a good find, and is exactly why I was disappointed with the current setup on the Supra. I went directly from the BMW to Supra and the bass was like night and day. The OE BMW underseat subs out performed the A90 subs by leaps and bounds.

When mine did updates it asked first stating that an update was available and whether or not to do it right then. I always did the update right then but I guess if you turned the car off or interrupted the update before it was completed it could possibly try to complete/reinstall the update...
Not sure if this will help but I use F47 for my radar detector. It does not have a fuse in it from the factory and is not listed in the manual but It comes on as soon as the car is started and shuts off 6 min after the car is turned off. I have been using it for power for several months...
XM radio uses an variant of AAC HE codec somewhere between 24–48 kbps. The sample rate of the played back audio is likely 32 kHz-44.1 kHz which will yield 16–22 kHz of audio bandwidth. However, the amount of compression is very noticeable, particularly background noises, detail and stereo...
I had it down between a used '10 R8 and the '20 Supra. Thought I had a R8 picked out as the pictures online looked good, but when I went to look at it in person, it was completely ratted out. In the interim time, I came across a great deal on the MKV and decided to pull the trigger on that...
Was able to hit up some autocross action the past two days in Concord. I gotta work on my lines, but there was another MKV out there from FL that was killing it.
That is correct, when you code the headunit brightness it disables the brightness control for the instrument cluster panel. I think the guy mentioned it in the video posted above. I did not code for this because of that reason. I found that just using window tint resolved any brightness...
@akasonny Even with the dimmer all the way up, it's still hard to see the instrument cluster? Next time I'm in Bimmercode, I will see what I can find.
Do you have window tint? I have mild tint and it made a huge difference in the cabin.
Correct. Bimmercode will not read any ECU codes. I use Torque to read codes and to also access other data. You can also overlay the data onto video with it too. Really nice if your running any track events.
Have you tried these steps:
3- Press START on the car three times in quick succession
4- start bimmercode app and connect and select BMW for car
5- select BMW Z4 (G29)
6- select Headunit
7- select Expert Mode at top
8- select 3005 DISPLAY_PIP_CONFIG
9- scroll WAY down and select...
Tip: Place a microUSB card in the center console and save your Profile settings so you can back them up easily in case it happens again in the future. Also helps restoring your settings if any updates are done to the system.
@a90moe I did not use hub rings. I've had her up in triple digits and she's buttery smooth. They don't come with center caps so you will need to order some if you want them.
Sound quality is good with either bluetooth, USB, or HDD. However, out of the three I would say the HDD sounds best. Have you tried ripping to the HDD?
I have my entire music library loaded onto a single micro SD Card. The album art is also loaded too. For reference these are my specs:
Cost: $20

Card Format: exFAT
Audio Format: MP3 (various kbps)
