I have a 2020 and put 4500 miles on mine before I changed to 0w-40. Did an oil level check the day before I did it after a long drive and it never came off full.
What they say all sound like good ideas. Some you tube videos I watched people had to get aggressive for it to come off. My downpipe slid right out when I went to catless.
I have been lucky to not have to listen to that in my area. If I hadn't seen those videos I would think that the person saying it would be very........lacking in intelligence ?
Yeah hard to tell if that's machining marks on the housing or fins hitting...but I'm not seeing any damage on the fin ends from the picture. If you had a boreoscope (forgive my spelling) you could look between the fins to check for damage. Also how's the compressor side look?
From the video I...
Check to see if the turbo has shaft play. If you can move the shaft back and forth that is not good. Some turbo companies allow a tiny amount when you go up and down. Others don't want any.
My daily is a 2003 dodge ram 2500 with the 5.9 cummins. It doesn't look pretty since it has the normal rust spots, but it has been the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned.
Yeah right now electric vehicles are way way to expensive. Plus our electric grid needs a major overhaul to handle millions of them charging all at the same time.
I paid 54k for mine brand new in January of 2020. If you are someone that is not going to modify your engine or car at all I think it's a bad deal. If you are someone that's going to modify your engine, then that is your call on how much you think having the ability to tune the engine is worth...
Make a boost leak kit. Buy silicone coupler to fit over the intake side of the turbo get an air compressor, some fittings and Guage and pressure up your intake system and use soapy water.
I had an idea what they were from the name, but I had to look it up. From what I gathered you hook up sensors on the engine and they hook up to ear phones and the tuner physically listen for knock sounds. I don't know what is more accurate knock sensors or ears.
I will say this when I got my...
I put on a catless dp and got a 91 octane tune. I don't like the cold start with the catless dp I find it really raspy. However when going down the road in normal mode it's a touch louder than stock with no rasp or drone and when you get on it in sport mode it sounds Fantastic imo. I never got...
I wonder, if your car was at the maximum allowed oil burn (1 quart every 1500 miles) could you just keep topping off your oil and just change the filter at 10k? Assuming you are someone that follows the book recommendations. I know oil sampling would tell the facts.
