personally, am not planning on financing it; have been saving up; targeting around $60k for the "manual" version, should that even come to exist. Even without the manual, am definitely not getting the 1st model year or perhaps not even the 2nd MY until they hone down all the TSBs lol. I never...
The same rigidity of the LFA is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G, to say the least! that's ~40,000 nm/deg. or almost 5x the MKIV supra @ 8,100 nm/deg (IIRC its been quite awhile :p).given this fact, IMHO it doesn't matter if its 3300lb, rigidity over weight anytime.
interestingly, that's the exact figure of 981...
the -3450lb- Focus RS does 0-60 in 4.6s and 13.4 for the 1/4mile, this will not "destroy" the supra in any possible comparison. the RS needs at least 400HP to have same perf/lbs ratio.
TT RS (3277lbs) is more inline with 3.4/11.9 respectively. albeit being 150lbs heavier AND lacking in torque...
i usually like to get the weight figures from Car & Driver instrumented tests as they weigh the cars themselves :p
anyways even with 3958lbs, that puts the supra at ~353HP, thats of course assuming if has the exact power/weight ratio of the RCF
So far this is the Best attempt to get news about the Supra viral and refresh peoples mindsets about it. Somebody is really having a blast "leaking" The Z4 specs as the supra's; instantly igniting auto websites.
So the Supra is more expensive than the Z4? Yeah right.
The convertible Z4 40i...
Am actually more excited now that its a McStrut. as, generally, the double wishbones have superior camber curve, but in practice the struts can be designed in a manner to render a great camber curve too. while weighing like 1/2 of the unsprung weight of a double wishbone setup.
Most BMWs and...
Thanks for sharing this. For some reason I feel less disappointed with the whole lack of manual now...
Since it's all about money; as this poll grow or the loss of prospects whom expected a manual may get things moving...perhaps?
P.s.: Speaking of going for another car; I never imagined I...
for drifting, even with the good old handbrake, drifters fitted a hydraulic ebrake , more often with its own master cylinder, lines, and calipers at the rear axle. it's not hard to do (thanks to Rhys Millen for "inventing" this :p).
my point, it doesn't matter much if it has a manual handbrake...
Interesting! Have so much fond memories in my 350Z.
With all the bs about the manual A90; i've been really inclined to buy a 370z and drop a 500+whp Fast Intentions TT kit in it.
Didnt reckon much of an upgrade from the z33 but, the way things are degrading, the 370 is probably one of the...
I totally understand and appreciate that; but thats also his job no? >_<
Also don't forget about the most important persona here:
The actual Customer: "Please please build it with a manual too".
"Do you really think the Supra needs a manual?” he asks. “After all, the gear shifting is slower on a manual..."
Seriously?!! With all due respect to Tada-san (..well what's left of it); this is the WRONG logic when building a "pure" sports car.
am beyond disappointed!
I thought he didnt...
