I don't put too much into published advertised power. There is a lot more to the equation. Gear ratios, power delivery, weight bias, suspension geometry, electronic launch programming, steering feel, chassis tuning, brake feel, modulation, fade resistance, perceived quality, style, etc.
I doubt...
It's always welcoming to have more power but I think the Supra is fine the way it is for it's current chassis tune. There is always the possibility of a few more HP in future model years. I would not be surprised in the least if Toyota/BMW had a small power bump in the future to keep up with the...
As a consumer it's great to have competition and choices.
It's not just the 2.0 and 3.0 Supra. A $34-$35K Z is going to present a headache for other rear wheel sports cars. That seems like the magic price point. Who wouldn't be considering a base Z if they were in the market for a loaded up BRZ...
I am glad BMW and Toyota got together. Neither the Z4 or A90 would probably be here today if they didn't. We are very lucky to have the Supra.
It does not sound like there will be a A100. There was a Japanese article interviewing the Supra's head engineer. He pretty much said the A90 is the end...
The 370Z first came out as a 2009 model in 2008. It was poor timing because the economy crashed. I remember because bought a brand new 2009 370Z for $8K off because no one was buying anything back then. I think the msrp was $35K? I drove the car for a couple of years and sold it for just about...
It does sound too good to be true if the twin turbo is the only engine. I can possibly see a lower performance engine starting at $34K. $34K car with 400hp twin turbos sounds way too cheap. I suspect it will be closer to $38K-$40K. $40K+ for loaded up performance models. Either way the 2.0 Supra...
Overall the new Z looks like a winner. I like it so far with the exception of the grill. Personally for me the rectangle grill will take some getting used to. Hopefully the perspective looks a little different from a higher viewing angle. Or maybe it will grow on me when I see one in real life...
More importantly, the Supra is said to be the last evolution of this GRMN specification.
It will be released in 2023 and will be discontinued in 2025 including the normal grade. There are no plans for the future, and Supra will finish its role.
In the future, sports cars with pure gasoline...
A friend is a Paint-less Dent Removal guy. He has accounts at new and used dealers. The number of of new cars that have previous paintwork would surprise most people. Paint gauges have gotten cheaper and better. No reason for a car enthusiast not to own one today. A paint gauge is the best $100...
In an odd way your car getting vandalized was actually a blessing. At least you found out now verses 6 months from now. Who knows how it would have played out later? I suspect your State's consumer laws played greatly into this. It's great your dealer is making you whole on the deal. Good luck...
Porsche is the gold standard for sports cars in my opinion. Everyone owes it to themselves to try a Cayman, Boxster, 911. The base models are nice but under powered. The chassis/ brakes are so good and capable, they need more power. The base Cayman and Boxster anyway. The base 911 is better...
The seats in my 370Z were terrible also. A shame because I really liked the exterior looks of the car. The available manual trans for the 400Z will be the decision maker for a lot of people. I would be very impressed if Nissan could make a better automatic than the Supra's 8-speed ZF. It's...
The wind buffeting is an easy and cheap fix if you like the deals on 2021s. The question is if the current incentives will continue or if there will be additional incentives? There seem to be quite a few 2021s so I doubt there will be a shortage by the end of the month. I would at least wait...
