  1. Car Wont Start: Solved

I know this is super old, but how did you diagnose this issue and what symptoms did your car have?
  2. Found Another Way to Break the Supra

I went back through the wires and found 3 wires cut, 2 for the intake cam sensor and 1 for the pcv sensor. I crimped them but no change. Not sure if crimping those wires would actually be good enough.
  3. Found Another Way to Break the Supra

I've looked for physical damage to wires and can't find anything. When I unplug Con4 of the BDC the symptoms stop (flashing dash lights, headlights, fuel pump running, vehicle won't turn off) but I still can't connect to the DME, also, the symptoms stop when I unplug any one of the DME...
  4. Found Another Way to Break the Supra

I'm the guy that was doing the engine build in the garage. I finally got everything put back together, but I'm having this issue now.
  5. Found Another Way to Break the Supra

I can't code the car because MHD, Bimerlink, AND Bimercode need the DME to respond. When I attempt to connect the apps say the DME could not be found.
  6. Found Another Way to Break the Supra

I replaced the battery when this first started happening, it was bad. But replacing battery didn't change anything.

  8. New supra 650-700hp suggestion build

I think what youre showing is coolant drops after a gear change. I'm talking about about a single gear pull between 2500-6500. I went back through about 20 logs prior to the install and didn't see drops in coolant temp during a pull.
  9. New supra 650-700hp suggestion build

I went back through all my logs from prior and never saw a drop in coolant temperature, compared to after the install and seeing as high as around 17 degrees drop and doing multiple pulls in a row seeing drops consistantly around 10 degrees. I'd be happy to attach a lot here if it allowed files.
  10. New supra 650-700hp suggestion build

I found a guy local to me saling the Koyorad aux radiators for $200, so I figured why not. Effect I saw was coolant temperature dropping about 10° during 4th and 5th gear 2500-6500rpm pulls. I also have the do88 HE and see very little IAT rise now (1-5°, off the top of my head) during the same...
  11. DIY Forged Internals in the comfort of your garage without removing the engine; and how I almost blew my engine.

Thanks for the help. I bought the telescoping guage and micrometer. Cylinders bores were all 82mm and pistons were all 81.92mm. CP calls for .0762mm.
  12. DIY Forged Internals in the comfort of your garage without removing the engine; and how I almost blew my engine.

I'm going to remove the pistons and measure them and the cylinder to check clearance and do the honing. Luckily I haven't put the oil pan back on or the head. I think these are a little more than just a off the shelf kit, they're specific to the Supra. I'm not so sure BMW is so picky when...
  13. DIY Forged Internals in the comfort of your garage without removing the engine; and how I almost blew my engine.

The clearance is set by CP at .030. from what I could find this is similar to the OEM pistons.
  14. DIY Forged Internals in the comfort of your garage without removing the engine; and how I almost blew my engine.

You're giving me some disappointing things to consider. Thank you 😂.
  15. DIY Forged Internals in the comfort of your garage without removing the engine; and how I almost blew my engine.

The main reason for not pulling the engine is the lack of space in the engine. Yes, probably just a few more steps and some more money for the lift.
  16. DIY Forged Internals in the comfort of your garage without removing the engine; and how I almost blew my engine.

It's about 80 grams more per piston/ rod assembly. I was able to get the new pistons exactly balanced though. I haven't heard anyone with a built 558 talk about shaking. But if the engine explodes, I'll be sure to let everyone know
  17. DIY Forged Internals in the comfort of your garage without removing the engine; and how I almost blew my engine.

I might have jumped the gun, but I am currently on the reinstall steps, i've installed the pistons and rods and will get to the oil pump and oil pan next. I've been taking it very slow and ensuring I research everything before I go into the next step. I've put well over 25 hours of work into it...
  18. DIY Forged Internals in the comfort of your garage without removing the engine; and how I almost blew my engine.

This is only for the brave (and if you're like me the desperate and dumb 😂) You don't have to remove the engine or subframe to install forged internals. This all started with the oil cap breather I installed. It didn't cause the issue but it masked it. The issue I had was a cracked valve...
