What if you used the touch sensor from the door handle and added it into the button? Then just connect the wires to the same place the door handle ones go to (or splice them into the same wires) so that the car thinks that the door handle unlock is happening when the button on the rear hatch is...

They've really increased the price in such a short time on these. When I bought mine, it was $60...and that was in April/May this year. But man the extra storage space has been great, lol.

I'd take it to Toyota, and have them double check the adhesive on the mirror mount as well (unrelated to the camera issue). Had my windshield replace by Safelite about a month ago and just today the entire assembly fell off. Looked at the adhesive and there was only 2 small dabs of it.
