All in all, it’s starting to look like it’s piston rings causing the really bad oil consumption for some of the 2021’s.
Now the main concern for most having this issue is which dealerships can handle this type of service properly?
I know why the previous owner sold it with full PPF, HKS intake...
It’s a Simucube pro 2. The software for it makes it super easy to setup and has a library of game specific settings that have been submitted by people who really know their stuff. Also the wheel selection is pretty good. Most professional drivers seem to be using it.
I just wanted to share with any car guys that don’t know about this or just forgot about it since in the past it was way too expensive and overly complicated to get setup.
Sim racing doesn’t have to be just racing, it can be cruising and canyon runs. Very therapeutic to go on a spirited drive...
Just checked my build date on my 2021. It is a 07/20 build as well and burns a qt every 500 miles. I do have a PCV leak somewhere that I will be taking care of soon. No oil under car anywhere.
Jb4 and e30 definitely accelerated the oil consumption, plus the 100 degree heat doesn’t help either.
I don’t do burnouts at all. The closest thing to a burnout is launching at a green light rarely. The PSS are very predictable when sliding around corners so I do that often but it goes through the rears pretty quickly. Last pair lasted 1 month/3000 miles lol.
Decided R888R would be a good...
Thinking about it more, it does make sense that it would add miles accordingly. So smashing thru 1st, burnouts and sliding around corners often is fun but bad for resale. Shocker.
Once my tires are bald or if it ever rains, I may do the burnout to verify.
I kind of want to now but these tires are pricey for how long they last. It feels like I would need to do the burnout for over 20-30 seconds to see a mile added lol. I should’ve tried it when I still had my old PSS.
I’m wondering how the Supra measures mileage as a rear wheel drive BMW goes by the revolutions of the wheels.
Since the Supra likes to spin its wheels especially on stock tires, does that mean you rack up more miles on the odometer the more you spin through 1st and 2nd gear?
I just got some...
If you already have a gaming PC, getting a decent wheel/rig to start off is fun and you can learn a thing or two about car control. I assume most people new to sporty rwd cars don’t have easy access to track days and autocross events.
The assetto corsa game is good but I found that Dirt Rally...
I got the car at the beginning of this year with 4K miles and now it’s nearing 18k I believe. Been going a little ham on the car filling up once per day and taking it on backroads close by. For how I drive it, it kind of makes sense but is still kind of alarming.
CEL came on last Friday after clearing the code a week ago. Will visually inspect all the points on the list for now and fix any leaks.
I’ve been scanning codes recently due to the drivetrain malfunction error from using jb4 coupled with a new code (10170C throttle valve function clamped...
I got this code twice in the last few days. Came back today after clearing it using jb4. It has been around 95 degrees outside lately while driving pretty hard. Reading on other B58 forums that it’s aftermarket air intake related. Intake is moving around and tripping out the crankcase breather...
Yeah, I agree that everything off does transform the car. Throttle input becomes a serious thing with VSC off when entering a corner. It gives you all the power so you have to know how to catch the car from snap oversteer if it happens.
I like sport traction on the street a bit more because it...
