right, they care about image and sure, lexus may not have the same pedigree as the germans in many people's eyes, but it still doesn't mean they need to price their products lower. if anything, keeping it higher will just make such cars like the lc more exclusive which indirectly adds to their...
I don't think most people who can afford a 6 figure car really care about value...hell, BMW can charge $150 K for their i8 with a 4 banger (I know, mid engine + phv but still)
yes, the HS and CT did only get 1 generation each, but to be fair Toyota & Lexus cannibalized themselves with that segment as they had the Camry hybrid, Avalon hybrid, CT hybrid, ES hybrid & HS hybrid all occupying the $30-40 K range. It is interesting to note though the HS & CT were...
don't think they really care and considering Toyota/Lexus rarely only make 1 generation of any model (even the SC got 2 gens) I don't think they'll kill it off right away. The LFA didn't count since it was on a bespoke platform/chassis..
folks you all not realize S2Ks were $10 K more than Miatas? Miata was selling at double the rate of S2000s...both were popular for what they were. http://carsalesbase.com/us-car-sales-data/mazda/mazda-mx-5-miata/ http://carsalesbase.com/us-car-sales-data/honda/honda-s2000/
same price as the current top trim Z4.. not sure how I feel about that as there are so many other cool cars around $60 K that actually come with a stick... guess we'll see how the performance turns out to be.
I'm still pretty scared about what the price will turn out to be. I've always figured this wasn't going to really be a bargain considering it probably wouldn't sit well with BMW that a car that uses their parts/powertrain is faster and cheaper than their own models. I get it won't have a...
lol...the Tokyo Auto show isn't NAIAS, they only have it every 2 years and it doesn't draw the biggest crowd. the concepts they feature there are usually for the japanese market, they care much more about function & efficiency
not a surprise, since they decided to scrunch the car's proportions it would have been a nightmare to have +2 seats in there, would have been even useless for people with no legs.. not ideal for me but hopefully this means better dynamics
think we should be thankful in many ways.. toyota/honda/nissan/mazda have released many unique & sporty products especially for the us market. think it's the other economy brands from around the world that have lacked memorable cars.
the length of time is interesting especially considering the 86 project took roughly 4 years from the very first internal concept to the production reveal in tokyo. the positive is perhaps this means the supra gets more unique components separate from bmw
while I would love to see more performance cars from japan your comparison is off. the japanese brands are economy brands first and foremost, they aren't playing in the same game as porsche, bmw, etc who are expected to provide what you're asking for..
profit rules the world. toyota made...
Heard similar nightmares with tacos too. personally I never had any issues with nissan whether when I had my 240sx (wasn't even rusty) or my parent's 08 maxima :dunno: the differences between the automakers are getting smaller and smaller, it is grasping at straws especially since most of the...
of course, compared to Honda & Toyota (mainly the latter), virtually everyone looks pretty piss poor in quality. Regardless, it is all relative. The recent Consumer Reports survey showed Nissan was still above average (less problems than Acura, and 2 spots behind Honda who barely cracked the...
they actually make money?
which economy cars don't have cost cutting? There are plenty of brands you could place below Nissan when it comes to quality..
from my knowledge the IS250's MT is quite different from the 86's which uses a derivative of the S2000/Miata trans. there were quite a number of posters @ ft86club who were able to keep their stock trans even when pushing double the power.
