If it's how the Toyota bigwigs can justify making new performance cars, so that they can use the branding to trickle down to basic cars, then I don't see much of an issue. Audi, Nissan, BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, etc all do the same.

I think the prices for FK8 are holding up as they're well regarded, no longer being made and there is no replacement available yet. So hopefully you'll get a good price for it. I still miss mine, the A45 I replaced it with just doesn't have that same feeling when driving it.
