Ahh! I think you're right on the money there. I went a step further and found the manufacturer (kingkong connector) and sent an email asking for a quote on a small batch of 20-50. The link you sent is definitely it but for this kit I'd need 2 male connectors and thst has one male, 2 female. It's...
Ladies and gentlefish, the PCBs have arrived! I'll hopefully get to soldering and installing them soon. I'll keep you all updated.
Along with that I have 2 other small updates.
1. I have a few bmw master tech friends who are looking into if and where I can buy the paddle module connector so...
Hey thanks! The only problem I might run into is figuring out which plug bmw uses for the paddle modules. For the time being ill have to chop the connector off the paddle module and solder them onto the wires from the Asher racing paddles. If anyone can help me identify the plugs and where to...
Totally agreed, big enough to let you still make an input at most positions on the wheel without being insanely large. If anyone doesn't lime the size these paddles are the "GT" version. There is a "Formula" version that's probably the same size as the stock paddles.
Oh! The shot of those spacers just made me realize...I could print those too ? ill give that a shot! Thanks for the inspiration lol.
And that's not a bad idea! I'm not entirely sure it would last a while but maybe something like a thicker vinyl or even some PPF film? There's plenty of ways to...
Hi everyone! Bit of an update. I just got the paddles in and test fitted one. Oh man, the action feels amazing! Much better and much more positive feedback per shift. The nice thing is, you can be quiet if you pull with less of a sharp input. I imagine taping a bit of felt in between would also...
Hey thanks so much man, I wouldn't call myself smart, just good at googling ?
Also, keep an eye out for another thread I'll be posting in a week or so on a 3d printed aimgain rep kit....here's a teaser ?
To be honest, I'm not quite sure. Maybe suicidaleggroll can comment. That being said, I can't imagine it would cause major damage to other systems down stream.
Well, as long as everything goes smoothly I'd happily sell a kit for anyone to install. However I want Eco-lap's permission and I want to give him some %, it's only fair. Hopefully he sees this ?
You can only order the PCBs in batches so I should have 9 others to use if this all goes well!
Thanks so much! I love his channel too. Simple, short, and fairly decent explanation even without a voice over or anything like that. I'm interested to see how his CF charge pipes turn out!
This is my first car with paddles and I have to agree the action leaves a bit to be desired. Like I said...
Ahh good to know! My main reason for going to springs was retaining the EDC since I'd like to take longer roadtrips and survive the cobblestone roads around me. However it dawned on me that despite losing EDC I can still make damping adjustments with coilovers albeit not with a touch of a...
I have but I haven't heard a ton about them. I'd assume it's fairly comparable to the HKS springs. Most likely I'll go for those or just a full coilover setup down the road. But for $250 an eibach spring setup is a pretty cheap entry even if it isn't "the best" or the most ideal.
I found out that when you press the window switch to roll the windows down completely, they don't roll down all the way. If you look at the window trim at the top of the door you'll see just a very tiny bit of window still sticking up. If you press down again the window goes down that 2-3 mm...
Just a quick update, the paddles should be here tomorrow, and I believe the PCBs should get here on Friday or early next week. I reached out to the author of the video and haven't heard back so I had to do a but of reverse engineering from the video/schematic he posted. It's a fairly simple...
Hey man! I haven't been on track yet but I've done an autocross with just the springs and just recently installed the eibach front swaybar. I've only done some backroads driving and around the city with that
Overall I'm pretty happy! I keep the shocks in normal mode to compensate for the...
I don't think the "harness bar" is actually meant to be a harness bar. It seems like just a brace. Since the carbon weave is all running perpendicular to the front of the car that makes me think all the strength is in that direction. The bar would be a whole lot weaker from force perpendicular...
Ahh that's good to hear! Looking around on YouTube and such, they definitely sound sturdy and I've been hearing good things.
And I like the noise, I'm one of those mechanical keyboard guys...ya know the really loud click/clack ones ??
Hi everyone, a while back I watched this video:
Where a guy retrofitted a set if Ascher Racing magnetic paddle shifters to his f80 m4. After owning my supra for a bit I came across the video again and did some digging. I borrowed a friend's OEM wheel to test fit the 3d printed backing plate...
