It's sales of both the 86 and the A90 I6. They want folks to choose between them without cannibalizing either. They also know Supra is synonymous with I6 in North America so...
In Asia they will sell far more of the 4cyl due to taxes, so that was an easy decision as well.
I'd argue it wouldn't...
They developed the car ground up for race applications, so they have a lot of what they need already, but just from a marketing/sales and manufacturing standpoint it has to be a ways out. In any case, they've said they still have a lot to do as well, so I think it's 2 years minimum.
The issue...
Not sure at this time. Someone mentioned the US equivalent pricing of $38k for the 255hp car, but I wouldn't consider it reliable. I've been too busy to sort through Japanese media atm, but someone else will likely chime in or post.
The only special cars I'm aware of are the GRMN. Maybe ask...
Egh, that's like a stripped car basically, so a 7:40 sounds about right for production, and as said I guarantee he's already timed it there or within stones throw away.
All of us work together and as such are equal as far as I'm concerned.
We all enjoy this stuff the same :)
As to the news, yes expected, but I'm not sure how I feel about it. The 4cyl is 3075lbs and makes 255hp. Throw on some bolt ons and I could see nearly 350hp and a car that competes in...
there are a ton of factors present in the US to be sure; a lot of it is not intuitive either.
some of the reasoning behind the stuff would blow your mind...
yeah, this was posted a while back actually, but they have quite a few things posted already.
Should be seeing parts releases from other tuning companies soon too.
Given that the Japanese are speaking about the 4cyl already, I'd say 4cyl either isn't coming this year or may not end up coming to the US at all.
IIRC the 4cyl speak is all AT though atm.
Moto-san posted earlier today that there will be no rules preventing dealers from markup etc.
But to your question, there is still no official program available as of yet aside from reservations at certain dealerships that will take deposits.
