hybrid/electric powertrain possibilities have all been unsubstantiated rumors...people have claimed they could hear "electric" whirring sounds with some of the drive by videos but none of that can be confirmed..you would think that part of the reason why toyota/bmw teamed up was in order to...
it needs to look even shorter and definitely much taller around the fenders to match the mule...sadly no car will ever have such a low hood/fender height to match the S2000..
render looks good but sadly it doesn't match any of the mule's proportions or lines, especially the front end where the mule doesn't look that long and low...the admin's render better matches how tall the mule looks
not sure what is new here..? :dunno: the z4/5 name is old news now and the possibility of having no manual has been likely ever since none of the photographed mules have had stick...it is sad to see autoguide post up so many bait articles..
well the interior being all bmw is old news and unsurprising...if we get bimmer engines then we probably get a dct but like in the other trans thread, it wouldn't really surprise me if they decide on a torque converter especially if toyota actually contributes to the project with the...
virtually all other car companies pale in comparison to toyota when it comes to sales & profits...while I find it facepalming that toyota wouldn't want to develop their next halo sports car on their own, I can understand some of the business concerns especially since Toyota is trying to push out...
it is mind boggling especially since toyota makes heaps more outright profit than bmw..if toyota uses the opportunity to come out with an insane new generation engine then such efforts would be understandable, but with all the info we've received it really just seems like they cheapened out and...
eh, the saddest part about the decrease in size for me is losing the +2 seating...the reduction in size/proportions was inevitable, there aren't too many ultra-curvaceous coupes that cost less than $70 K..the FT1 is more stylized than say the LC 500 and look where that ended up. I am more...
..if it is at that price then the BMW/Toyota partnership makes even less sense than it already does especially if the performance doesn't turn out to be a bit groundbreaking..will give more fuel to the Corvette bandwagon.
..it wouldn't be unreasonable but then the issue becomes cost..we all know the mk4 was well above the cost of other similarly performing coupes and with toyota teaming up with a non-eco brand like bmw it is hard to see a big "discount" with the successor...as another example, despite mazda...
eh, the most iconic part of the mk4's taillights was the altezza style housing. with the angular shape to the FT1's taillights it would look awkward with the circular lights inside so i could care less if they try to implement something similar..the FT1's design looked good to me
.."hunting" for gears is all programming, and it is only evident with the LC if you aren't in the sport modes...but in reality, I could care less about the programming in auto mode..if I have to drive a sports car without a stick I'm going to at least control the gears in the most manual fashion...
sure, but if they put a torque converter then it will be another small facepalm for this Toyota/BMW "partnership"..they probably won't give us a manual but you would be cool with a 10 speed non-DCT which they have already developed with Aisin for the Lexus LC...
torque converted autos have indeed become very good but I would be quite sad if the Supra wasn't a DCT...seeing that none of the mules so far have had a stick I'm not holding my breath for one..
sorta, you have to dig for a little bit whereas the ft1 was pretty much on the front page on the us site..now its the fj replacement
I get that, i'm just saddened that it has less exposure...not too many folks, who aren't already familiar with the supra/ft1, would look for those pages by...
