  1. Supra Bump Steer fix...

Do you really think Toyota engineers would have ignored something of this manner during testing? I'm sure they felt it but I see it more of a limitation with the components that was provided to Toyota. Not to spark the debate of BMW parts Zupra but previous BMW Z4's had this issue.
  2. 2022 Toyota Tundra spied

Very cool! I think it's time to finally retire my 2005 Tacoma Dbl Cab 4WD with 380K miles. Interested to see the Tundra or 4Runner for MY2022.

That's the thing though. A lot of them were significantly priced higher and yet the MKIV was giving them a run for their money. Remember how much E36 M3's were back in the 90's, less then the MKIV. The MKIV was putting out 911 turbo and 512TR performance at a fraction of the cost. It would...
  5. Chris Harris on GR Yaris and Supra.

The best way to describe it is how the steering wheels feels heavy, almost like there isn't any power steering assist or like running wide wheels. I like the very close steering ratio and how it has more feedback with the road. I drove a 997.2 4S and even the 9A1 sounded different and the car...
  6. Chris Harris on GR Yaris and Supra.

Nice 964. Is that a C2 or C4? I remember when the 964 was considered the ugly duckling of the air cooled 911's. Now they are among the move sought after. I'm surprised that you're AC is still working. lol I'm sure you can get a nice return on it when I decide to sell it. I bought my MKIV...
  7. Chris Harris on GR Yaris and Supra.

So it shouldn't be compared to a 911 but rather compared to a C8 and a Cayman, Boxster, Mustang and Camaro? C8 and Cayman are mid engine, the Boxter is a open top, the Mustang and Camaro have V8's. :dunno: TBH, all of them are apples to oranges as not one of them are a true comparison even...
  8. Chris Harris on GR Yaris and Supra.

IMO, in the <60K range, prob the C8 but who buys the entry level version. As far as a new sports car, I want to check out the 2021 M4, esp since it has a manual transmission. When it comes to sports cars, I don't cap my purchase at a specific price range but at the same time, stay within...
  9. Chris Harris on GR Yaris and Supra.

Def a great thing to have options. I still want to build a long hood and hopefully the prices for project rust buckets would come down. You've covered the question that you asked me. The very tight crisp and heavy steering of a 911 along with open view due to the low slung hood are also...
  10. Toyota Supra, Ruined by Bump Steer?!?!

This was Toyota's campaign from the beginning. :dunno: https://pressroom.toyota.com/getting-to-know-the-all-new-2020-toyota-gr-supra/
  11. Chris Harris on GR Yaris and Supra.

In a more perfect world, I'd like see all of the JDM legends return with updated/throwback looks, similar specs but with a more power, more analog interior and an great emphasis on lightweight. I know the NHTSA and EPA restricts won't allow for certain 90's designs (MKIV Supra and NSX NA1/NA2...
  12. Chris Harris on GR Yaris and Supra.

I have the MKIV brochure (and all of the 90's Japanese cars of that era) tucked away somewhere in my garage as well as the original MSRP sticker. Being in middle school-high school when those cars were in production was pretty awesome. Going to each Japanese dealership to see ropes around each...
  13. Chris Harris on GR Yaris and Supra.

Yeah, you sounded pissed. ? j/k I see it more of Chris Harris' level as being a bad compromise but I do see the good compromise. They used BMW parts from the entry level of BMW's, possible lower grade onto Toyota's top of the line car. The good compromise is that they pulled it off...
  14. Chris Harris on GR Yaris and Supra.

+1 Once you see one driving, it looks like no other car on the road. A timeless design that looks very exotic.
  15. Chris Harris on GR Yaris and Supra.

No contest on the price point. If Toyota built the Supra from the ground up, it would have been LC-500 price range and then some. They compromised with BMW and this is the result. Like I said, it is what it is and is. Chris Harris is telling it how it is (that it's predominantly BMW) and you...
  16. Chris Harris on GR Yaris and Supra.

Unfair is your opinion though. The fact of the matter is the Yaris is built by Toyota on a Toyota platform where the Supra was built by and is off a BMW. Chris is a big BMW fanatic too and loved the GT86 when it came out in 2012. Regardless of the price, Toyota can build nice and fun cars on...

  20. Does 4 cyl Supra take away or add to the brand?

That's exactly it though. Due the strict regulations by the EU, car manufactures had to go turbo 4 and smaller. It's was a band-aid solution only to realize that it didn't work...
