I understand why manufacturers do it...im shocked that it's done on this particular car. On a Mazda, no one cares because the people buying those cars will barely ever do anything outside of changing their oil and filling up gas. However, for a Supra....mmmmm....this is a big deal. For one...
Wait....WHAT!?!?! So, basically a "semi-siamese" cylinder head??? OMG....this is gonna be crazy, and not necessarily in a good way.
This is a big deal for tuners....a VERY big deal.
So, just to be clear...the one turbo we see in the diagram has two single-port runners??? So, a twin turbo setup will have four total runners??? Does this mean the head will have four ports for exhaust and six ports for intake??? No six port collector??? Am I not seeing something else here???
“Smokey” Nagata and Tetsuya Tada like to “hang out” alot outside of work....and from time to time, Nagata asks Tada for some “off road use” custom parts to be made.
Yep, the memorable MKV’s won’t be the modified B58 cars, they will be the 2JZ swapped ones. Top Secret will be the first to do this....ask me how I know.:D
The designers got the center console all wrong...lol...the center console side panel should be away from the driver...and be on the passengers side, not in the way of the driver's reach of things. Jesus...
That would also make the interior more "Supra-like."
Yup! Especially for high HP cars, the lower gear ratio is key and better driveability in each gear. For NA cars or lower HP cars, the higher gear ratio makes the car feel quicker, but your in and out of gears alot....at least on my setup. I got Z33 rear diff conversion mounts to get a lower...
For me it's not so much take off....but the short time in first gear. Has alot to do with my rear ends ratio more than anything. I can stay in 1st longer, but the whine and feel of the transmission with the upshift to second is garbage. 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th is where I usually am most of...
I thought it was a good analogy though no?...lol.
I do agree with the video that every gear shift in a manual is unique....and has it's own "character." This is so true....and I even have gears that I love and hate on my own car....lmao.
Funny you mention this....I know exactly what you mean. When someone drives my Z32, and I sit passenger I feel unsafe. I know that sounds weird, but the dash is so low before it curves to clear your legs, I feel like I would seriously get injured in an accident as a passenger. Maybe it's all...
The MKIV Supra's interior is a driver-focused interior. The passenger is just that....a passenger, just there for the ride not to touch buttons and play with controls. The MKIV's "driver selfish" interior layout is fantastic in my opinion, it makes the driver feel more like a pilot...
Alot of aftermarket tuner shops are offering the Magnum's as a great option for high HP builds. Granna's racing for a while has been the go to for 2JZ swaps with T56 Magnum's. I was originally looking at the T56's, then wanted to go the CD009 route...but due to the limited space under the hood...
Ah, sorry I thought only in regards to Supra’s.
Sure, the new auto’s may be a different beast...again, im not dismissing the idea of ever owning an auto trans car. Personally, having driven and owned both manual and auto cars for various reasons and applications, I enjoy a manual drivetrain...
