It's far easier to just say wait for the car to be released. I've mentioned most of the stuff that is different or Toyota design (the entire body aside from chassis, the engine which was refined in Japan, the suspension and engine tuning, and more), and yet folks are somehow surprised by the car...
It's pretty small, but I fit inside of it at 6ft, average body size. It has a massive steering wheel though which impedes anyone tall and/or thicker in the gut region.
I'm told if you repeat something long enough it becomes true by default... gonna keep the JZA70 one going along with 'I'm a millionaire.'
My buddy did this to his slicktop and it was badass before he sold it.
I also LOVE FDs with 2J swaps. ugh, so good...
one of the TRD guys said it would have been a couple hundred pounds lighter iirc, but nothing too crazy as the 2J was part of the reason it weighed what it did.
Then again, maybe it wouldn't have been the 2J.
For sure lol.
Suzuki didn't like the Z30 chassis because he felt it wasn't developed (for lack of better term) enough for a sports car. I think he very much wanted the A80 to be more sports car (like A90) and less grand tourer, but by having to stick with the modified Z chassis put a damper on...
Depends if modes affect mileage targets. Many times the car is rated on fuel economy in the eco setting and as such becomes the default setting due to mandates.
Not all cars are that way though.
To my knowledge they didn't get very far; I'd be surprised if they even got beyond the discussion stages before axing it.
That said, it may not have been on the SC platform. Suzuki-san did not care for the Z30 platform and tried to get a bespoke A80 chassis which was denied to his chagrin.
Yeah, it took me quite some time to get used to that and some other idiosyncrasies they have.
Nah, I have no plans for that, plus I'd still have to contend with the 25yr rule/EPA afaik
I actually commented on this in another thread a moment ago and deleted it, but it has to do with the Japanese preferring to not give affirmative answers and/or statement that will incite conflict. Add to this that Toyota is a Japanese company, and nearly everything they say starts and ends with...
That is my fear, but we shall see what they do. I don't have concrete information on trims for the US and very little for Europe, but I know what Japan is getting and it's just another reason I'm going to buy mine there (same story different day; they always do the cool stuff overseas).
