  1. 👣 Official: Toyota Announces Manual Transmission Supra!

just another reason for me to purchase one in Japan Masayuki-san also loves not giving straight forward answers, so this might just be him avoiding conflict. granted that is a fairly normal thing for the Japanese ...
  2. Toyota Rolls Out First Fully Redesigned Century in 21 Years

if you have the money to buy one, then why not go all the way? haha
  3. Toyota may build Supra convertible / targa instead of 86 convertible

That runs contrary to everything that's been said behind closed doors, whether Tada himself etc. Gotta love the open ended answers...
  4. The Pricing Thread + Potential US Tariffs Impact

Well, at least they're talking about the active suspension now :) At least Europe and Japan will have options. I have far less of a good feeling about NA cars.
  5. The A70TTR Dedication Thread!

I have not; SEMA has been the only scuttlebutt with some validity that I've come across.
  6. "⁣Supra goes Madrid" - Toyota Europe invites to drive the new A90

for anyone curious as to why it says Toyota, the badge under that camo isn't the Ellipses :)
  7. A80 Toyota Supra

that car has a decent amount left in it too; he's somewhat hesitant in some areas (normal for non pro driver) and traffic held him back somewhat as well. just goes to show how you can easily modernize and old car and easily take on the modern challenges.
  8. Interviews with Chief Engineer Tetsuya Tada

Agreed. There are so many facets to it, and I wish we just had both options.
  9. Interviews with Chief Engineer Tetsuya Tada

Brakes are easily upgradeable vs chassis and drivetrain items which are far more involved, so I don't really feel the equivalency is there... As said however, you can't please everyone.
  10. Interviews with Chief Engineer Tetsuya Tada

I personally don't think they are dismal at all, but to each his own. Could they be better? Sure, but so can everything else.
  11. The A70TTR Dedication Thread!

I thought about just getting the Silver and adding a tune, but I wanted the extra water pump and dynamic suspension. You can easily upgrade the Silver to be the same for far less money though...
  12. The A70TTR Dedication Thread!

I have the Q50RS and wouldn't hesitate to recommend picking one up (for now). Hopefully that answers your question.
  13. Interviews with Chief Engineer Tetsuya Tada

I think the power argument is really out in left field and honestly sounds more like Tada searching for a more readily acceptable excuse for enthusiasts. It falls flat IMO. The only other thing I can possibly add is if he was alluding to transmissions not meeting reliability requirements at...
  14. The A70TTR Dedication Thread!

I haven't, but i'm primarily concerned with mostly Lexus stuff now. although I still come across plenty of stuff in the news and from friends sharing stuff with me here and there on social media etc.
  15. The A70TTR Dedication Thread!

I was thinking of half brothers as well lol
  16. Interviews with Chief Engineer Tetsuya Tada

Of course they have the resources, but that's not the issue. They have made this determination for a multitude of reasons and have decided to run with it. (cost x reliability x emission/safety x shift speed/comfort) They aren't going to drop the manual on current production cars though. You'll...
  17. Interviews with Chief Engineer Tetsuya Tada

I would not be surprised what so ever if the next M2/M3/M4 is auto/DCT only. They already made the decision to go auto only with the M5, granted that's a different class but still. I mean they tested the manual in the Z4 and apparently decided to not offer it... So, thus far they have been...
  18. "⁣Supra goes Madrid" - Toyota Europe invites to drive the new A90

Aasbo, Sam Du (editor of Super Street), and many others are there atm.
  19. The A70TTR Dedication Thread!

I'd agree with the sentiments BRX made.
  20. Production Toyota Supra will be revealed in the first half of 2019 at Detroit!

Given what Tada said to me about the importance of U.S sales I would think so, but logistics are so convoluted that it's anyone's guess. Also, went back and read some of the conversations, and Detroit was mentioned as a possibility a few times, but it was just a consideration.
