Can't believe they would wrap over that regardless. I would not deal with a new hood or repaint, it will mean the rest of the hood has non-factory paint which is undesirable, no matter how good a paint shop claims to be.
I wouldn't even bother with an airbrush repair, since those can be...
I haven't heard lifter ticks after changing the oil on a B58, but then again I don't let it drain for hours, so maybe that had something to do with it.
Can't say I have ever found a perfect glass cleaner for a car, but I've never had streaks/problems with Stoner's Invisible Glass. I spray, spread/wipe with one wad of paper towels, then switch to a dry wad of paper towels to buff it dry.
I also have their glass cleaner tool, which is a big...
Dang, that looks different than the flaking I have seen. So we have cracking and flaking, possibly two issues, or maybe one general "poor quality part" issue.
Try to find the light sensor and see if it responds to a flashlight. On many recent models, it’s hidden in the instrument panel.
Is only the center display dim, or also the instrument panel?
BTW, when you add the new oil, add the proper amount spec'd for oil+filter change, then run the engine and look at the oil level reported in iDrive. Normally the correct oil level will be a few bars below the top of the scale and the screen will report "oil level OK" or something like that...
24 hour oil change? That is dedication!
Be curious to cross match the filter with the BMW part#, as it is cheaper from Toyota for sure. I pay about $14 for the oil filter kit (filter and two o-rings) for the B58 in my X3 M40i, which is BMW part #11-42-8-583-898. Looks similar, if not the...
It’s not cracking, it is the chrome plating on the inside of the logo (under the clear plastic) flaking off. I think some part of the manufacturing process went wrong and didn’t let the chrome paint/coating stick right.
RRKnight said that wasn't his car in the video, and other details he posted make it sound like his camera was wired to a constant 12V source (use of voltage sensing relay, etc -- that wouldn't even work on a circuit that shuts off when the car is off since there would be nothing to sense -- so...
I just looked at photos of the Supra I test drove and the Supra I ogled at a dealer and I see no film on the door. Maybe post a picture of what you think you are seeing.
Agree, production didn't start until spring 2019, so I doubt it was a January build -- they were only making limited numbers of pre-production cars at that point.
The one guy Thomas is a real good driver and an instructor, and he does all the timed laps. I would expect he could extract the best from each car as long as he does enough laps to dial in properly. I don't think they make any effort to correct for weather, tire variability, or have an...
Regarding the power wiring for the dash cams -- you have to find a switched 12V power source that shuts off when the car is off. This is required whether or not you have a camera battery pack installed. Nothing should be pulling power from the car when it's shut off, not the camera and not the...
