I don’t see abnormal raw film edges in pictures 2 and 3. Can’t see anything in picture 1.
Picture 2 shows a wrapped edge except for the very point. That cannot be wrapped, at least not reliably, so the film is normally truncated right at that point.
I don’t see a raw edge in picture 3, I see...
Precut pieces can absolutely be wrapped, they just plan it into the template. Normally when I order precut kits, I have the option to include wrapped edges. There isn’t usually a cost difference (material only, obviously labor goes up when wrapping edges).
It's not production constraint at Magna. Many of the cars people are waiting for were built in May, shipped, and then sat in a US port all this time. For whatever reason, Toyota is trickling them out to dealers. Even many LE models, which were all supposed to reach customers on 7/22, were...
PPF and caps are port installed options. You won't get the old red caps. If someone wants to keep them, it would be better to order the CF caps separate and install later. I bet the port just tosses the red caps in the trash, even though they would be worth money to many people.
Bumper PPF...
Residue under the door handle is possibly from the wrap they put under there? I don't think they wrap that lower door plastic part.
Now in general I'd caution you not to expect a superior paint job from BMW/Magna but it should be as good as any other manufacturer in the price range (and BMW...
I feel like it's hard to conclude anything from that photo because I see different color reflections, what looks like the reflection of a fence, sky, etc, and the surface is at a much different angle than the adjacent panel. If that is the same photo your local shop looked at then I wouldn't...
May be normal then. What type of lighting was used? Paint matches are usually calibrated for a certain natural daylight light spec (they can never be perfect under every condition, so the nominal daylight condition is the one that is used for calibration). If you're going over a car with a...
Those parts are painted separate from the car, in fact they are usually pre-painted by the supplier and delivered to the plant. It looks like a really bad paint job or poor color match, or maybe some type of fading. Are any of the other plastic parts showing this? (may not if these are unique...
Beautiful! If that racing stripe was an unplanned addition to cover the seam, nobody will ever know -- it's well integrated and works like it was part of the design theme.
Doubtful to me that Toyota would get an S58, however, there is so much potential in the B58 that is not a big deal in my mind. The manual is more reasonable.
Not bad considering he was struggling for grip the whole time. I give him credit for yielding to faster cars, some of the other drivers were not giving that courtesy.
It will probably have BMW-style jacking points on the side, which use a rectangular socket, so you'll need the right adapters for those whether you put a jack or stands on the sides. You can buy them or make them out of hard material, approx 30Wx55Lx25H in mm.
If there is a front jack point it...
The split screen / full screen aspect is controlled by the iDrive software (note that what's on the other side of the split isn't CarPlay content). It's really about the size of the virtual display that the vehicle provides to the iPhone, and whether it's the whole screen, a portion, a 4:3...
Wow, that is nuts. So I guess that's one more minor pain in the ass to deal with when wrapping the car. You guys have a whole lot of patience to get into all these little details for the install prep (never mind the complexity of the installing the film itself).
So there wasn't a plug on the rear edge of the door that gave access to a screw holding the cap on? I swear I saw the standard BMW setup when I was looking over the Supra a few weeks ago. Pull the plug out, use a long T-25 screwdriver, and loosen the screw for the cap to come off. You only...
