I have a snap on wrench but I didn’t use it after reading about people stripping the plug using it and torquing to specs. Not to mention I’ve done 50 or more oil changes in all kind of cars with zero issue. Go figure
Correct me if I’m wrong. But is it correct that the oil in the oil pan gets picked up by the pick up and first goes through the oil filter prior to being distributed to the engine?
I ask, b/c when I last changed my oil I felt the last little bit of hand tightening gave me that sick feeling that...
Thanks Marshall. I did reach out via your website link last week and asked this question, or something along the lines of it, but maybe I wasn’t clear. I just figured you were busy so I tried to understand what I was seeing, obviously I didn’t do much but confuse things by the look of it. I...
ah, ok. Man I use shell gas, from the same station for years, I guess anything is possible.
My tune is OTS. I'm concerned because I keep reading from various websites that any knock below -1 degree is concerning and I'm getting -5.6, and when I totally let off gas I get -3 across the board...
ok, the first one was not WOT, the second one wasn't quite either, but can you explain why it must be at WOT to see if there are issues?
I repasted the second link, it was incorrect the first time.
I need some help with reading my tunes, I am certainly no expert.
I have a detuned Visconti Stage 2 tune for 93 octane, and I’m using Ecuteck. I sent them the last tune you see below for review to Visconti last week, but I haven’t heard back from them yet. So until I do I thought I’d post...
How many knock sensors do we have? My ecutek log show 6 cylinders with knock retard but I think I read we only have 2 sensors. If that’s true how does the ECU know which cylinders to reduce timing to?
Ok, makes sense. I did use to own a BRZ so I get it. Good luck with your build. If I were in your shoes I’d focus on the handling aspect and the better weight distribution. Maybe autocross to thrash it a bit every now and then.
The gouging dealers are doing now is absurd. I got lucky, I got my...
I have a question, I know it’s a “fun daily beater”’ but your spending a good bit of money on mods. Why didn’t forgo some of those mods and buy a 3.0 and enjoy the performance from that. Not saying your wrong to do what your doing, just genuinely curious.
So gauge pressure in this case would equal about 14.5 psi of boot correct? Assuming 14.7 atmoshere.
also, between shifts the boosts climb dramatically. For instance as I accelerate I see max 20 psi, then the car shifts and I see 31 psi. Normal?
I have an OTS stage 2 tune for my 2020 supra. Can someone tell me what’s going on with my Ecutek gauges, under the Target Boost Pressure (in psi) if I just crack the throttle at idle it’s reading 21 psi - that can’t be possible can it? Is there something going on here how do you get it to read...
I may have missed spoken, what I mean to say is when I give it gas the car doesn’t downshift into a lower gear, it just continues on through rev range until red line then shifts. Does that make sense?
I have an OTS stage 2 tune in my 2020.
couple questions:
1. do I need to data log anything and send it to them for review? If so what conditions do they want it under?
2. it appears that In sport mode the transmission doesn’t appear to want to kick down as readily when I punch it while...
