This is correct. If you purchase a car outside of CA you need to use it in the state purchased for at least 12 months or you have to pay the CA Use Tax to register it here.
So yeah not really an option for CA residents to buy out of state to save costs.
Edit: my bad lol didn’t realize this...
Yeah, I understand this sentiment. I was recently cross shopping between a used Cayman or the TTRS - some of my friends say I made the wrong choice going with the TTRS, but my reasons came down to the 2 exact points you made above. I can work on it myself and the aftermarket scene is pretty...
Check your local state vehicle codes. Here in Cali you can put a car seat and transport a kid in the front passenger seat of a 2 door car that has no back seats. See CA Vehicle Code 27363(e)(1).
I have Diono car seats (different models than the one you posted) in my kid hauler. I got them because they have the smallest profile/footprint.
My daily is a small hatch and the Chico seats I had before made it impossible for my toddlers to climb in themselves - there was no space between the...
Lol no. I just try to keep my stuff clean and am not a slob.
Count me on the team that does not eat or drink in cars, whether they be mine or anyone else’s for that matter. Except sugar free Monsters are ok tho in my cars - that stuff isn’t sticky and doesn’t stain, and a man has to be...
The Supra is no longer my daily, but I did daily it for the first 11 months of ownership. TBH, I quickly realized I'd have to get a second 4 door car eventually since I have young kids.
But I guess dailying the Supra re-awakened my car enthusiasm? I originally planned to just have the Supra...
Configurator for the 4 pot is now live… and it comes in at a whopping $99,900.
I was somewhat interested in the 4 pot (kind of want to bring home a 4 cylinder mid engine car next) but not at that price. The supercharged V6 is only $6k more - not sure who would willingly buy the I4.
Currently the TTRS since its new. Plan to keep that and the Supra for the long haul. My quick thoughts on each below for those who are interested. The GLA45 is fun too - but that is my daily/kid hauler so will probably trade that in for an EV in the near future.
Supra: Always will be my BAE...
Lol. @kaj I’m guessing it’s cause you used to have a collection of cars.
I’m finding it hard to keep 3 cars (plus the wife’s car) clean and after washing my tiny collection in the beating sun this afternoon, I had the thought of just giving up on keeping them clean during the summer.
@SuupYota thanks man, appreciate the update.
And yeah, battery life I expected to be average at best if playing max settings since the Zflow 13 is the same - if I play Elden Ring or Forza Horizon on default settings unplugged, with a BT xbox controller, I get maybe 35-40 minutes max of battery...
@SuupYota come back with a follow up post to let me know how you like it. Been looking at a steam deck myself and didn’t even know about the Ally until your post.
I’m an ASUS Rog fan (have had numerous top end laptops/tablets, ROG phones before I went over to Apple for good) currently use a ROG Zflow 13 I got last fall as my main PC… But either:
(a) buy and only keep ASUS Rog products during their warranty period; or
(b) continue to extend the warranty...
Haven’t driven the Supra in awhile and think I may have left the radar detector on. Not sure, but got the battery management warning so pulled out the trickle charger. Figure I should top off the new toy as well.
Yeah, I have one of those Baby AMG 4 bangers in the GLA45 and for that car, or the CLA45 or A45 it makes sense since its their entry level platform. They're not built that heavy and honestly the 355-380 HP is plenty for that platform. I'm pretty sure the varient that's in my first gen GLA45 (355...
Yeah ok. This thread went from a “will $20k get my Supra to 800 HP to feel like a FBO modded 1LE” to “Can I build the Supra into a 1000 WHP, daily reliable and streetable GT cruiser that can also do an 8 second 1/4 mile.”
The answer to both is no - there is no replacement for displacement...
I would advise against putting money into a platform you are already disappointed in, in the hopes that it’s going to make you enjoy the car. Sometimes it works, but often times it’s better to put that money towards a different car.
Sounds to me like you want to move onto another car and...
I just got something cheap on Amazon to mount and hardwire the R8 on the mirror/homelink in the Supra:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0788XRBTV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Straightforward process. DC battery. Pull the mirror shroud apart and down towards the dash and...
White or Black is a safe choice for the Supra. But really no factory color looks bad on the Supra.
You’ll be fine with your decision @alan7467 - I personally love my Absoulte Zero.
But on topic - I rarely see any Supras in south Orange County. Maybe a couple a month.
Ran into a tungsten (I...
