I mostly deal with factory aluminum blocks, so I get the distortion part. That's the 20% I'm talking about. Engines run at operating temp most of the time so it takes many heat cycles to get that last part broke in. As for the sleeved part, you talking wet or dry sleeved? Not a fan of wet...
That depends on a lot of factors. Like what Ra is the cylinder honed at? What material are the rings?
From my testing with Totalseal (headed by their lead engineer), a set of their standard tension stainless rings, cylinder wall Ra of 20, the ring is 80% broke in after 12-15 min of running an...
Body shop said they dont want to. Would rather hold up progress until the correct part comes in. Also would have to swap over to my 10" wheels which are waiting for tires to show up. I am seriously contemplating just buying a whole set of Ohlins to rob the parts out of and then sell them once...
Anyone know where I can source a replacement shock for Ohlins? 3DM seems to be the best spot but looks like he is going to be hard to get ahold of for who knows how long. Ohlins USA wont get back to me either... This is holding up my car going back together now as the body shop says they do...
You got a Costco membership? They use Connect for insurance and offer some pretty good rates. I went from like 220 a month for the supra alone to 160 a month for 3 cars once I switched.
Yet another reason for me to switch over to them.... I only got 4 track days out of the 660s before the inside was down to threads. Sucks cause the rest of the tire is still good. Not even heat cycled out.
On another subject, what wheel weights did you say to get? The ones that dont melt off.
$1000 all in. Thats the only reason I decided to be the test victim. Not the end of the world if it sucks. Will be some nice wall art at that point haha.
I got in at the presale price. So $1000 and an unknown amount of time for me to be the test dummy for all you. Again, the time frame doesnt bother me cause my car is going to be at the body shop for yet another unknown amount of time.
Dont worry, I will wait another 2 weeks after the next 2 weeks pass to post the exact same update.
Man, I was hoping to get sponsored by them but I only have 249k followers. I heard that 250k was the magic number.
The firmware you are running shouldnt make a difference at all. The earlier firmwares just ignore the fact that its plumbed into the JB4. The later firmware (58/20//5) is the one that activates it. Can you verify what firmware you are on? Either way though, it shouldnt matter.
Are you running...
Easy stuff then. I have nitrogen too if you need to disconnect the lines. Initial setup is time consuming but super easy. Lots of up, wheels off and back down.
