That is true and you should let the oil temp come up before leaning on it at any time. During break in it's also the reason you don't hold a consistent load but ramp the load up and down. But you should also start it and just drive it conservatively until the oils up to temp and not idle the...
Yep. The worst thing you can do to a new engine is either baby it or flog it. The only thing that really needs to be "run in" is the piston rings, everything else is wearing out from day 1. The rings need combustion pressure to bed in which means "load". Load comes from making the engine "work"...
Sorry but this to me looks totally out of place in the Supra cockpit esp with the tan accented interior. Kind of like when I look down at my dog and see his lipstick poking out at me. Similar colour as well.
The Supra needs something that's elegant not loud.

I'm not surprised the thing weighs 2125KG! that's 622KG more than a manual Supra or 1371 pounds. That's like having a car with the driver and 7 passengers along for the ride wherever you go. Great for the sprung to unsprung weight ratio and hence the ride quality. There's a reason they don't...
Yea stupidest idea ever. Everything I've worked on over the last 48 years from superbikes to commercial jet engines has always had some way of doing a physical check of the oil level. If we suspected consumption issues on a jet engine what the gauge said was irrelevant it was a physical check...
My only advice when you decide on a trolley jack is don't attempt to use it on the jacking points without a pinch weld protector or jacking pad. I bought this and still have it (Quickjack) Brilliant piece of equipment.

Not sure about the Supra but on some cars like the Focus RS Mk3 the std undertray doesn't survive winter driving and impacting even loose snow wrecks them. Common mod was an aluminium under tray for winter users.

Yes tell them to stick the piston and ring solution where the sun don't shine. You should be getting a replacement short block at the very least and in reality a complete long block engine. 98% of dealer mechanic simply don't have the skills or the practice to do this type of rework anymore.

I've never heard a B58 running under the hood and sound tracks can be hard to analyse with regards to "noises" but after 45 years of building engines there's nothing I heard that raises alarm bells there with me.

Yes. My point is where's the line between an infomercial and the reality? When people start trashing the std stuff and technically quite wrongly in some cases my suspicions are raised. Don't get me wrong I love quality upgraded parts and the replacement clutch here looks very nice ( except they...
All true but not the reality. One person "mint" is another persons Meh. When I collect a new car and the sales person is crapping on about the pretty Bow on the hood or the "big reveal" and photo's of me with my new car I'm there shooing him away to do the paperwork while I have a thoroughly...
As a general comment my pet hate with a performance car is dealer mechanics taking the customers car for a fang or putting miles on it that simply aren't justifiable. Not sure of the circumstances here but I'm from a "maintenance background" and every friend and relative I have is somehow...
It's a brand new MASS PRODUCED car that's travelled half way around the world in the hands of multiple drivers who are "just doing a job and need to get it done"' to get to the dealership and then to you. Add to that any "options" you've chosen like clear bra, paint protection, window tinting...
I like the way in the video there's all those throw away lines like "with the power and torque we're making now the std clutch is obviously not good enough"' etc etc. You look at the std clutch on the bench and it looks perfect. What the std clutch slipped hard on the dyno or failed? If it had...
A couple of inches! Do you mean as you move forward in the cue of cars when you apply throttle the front rises and then when you brake it stays elevated and then seems to drop after a little while when stationary? If so this could be the variable damping system going full front compression...
