  1. Official Oil consumption thread: Car excessively burning oil?

Good result. Forget the road trip, take it to the track or dyno. 10 hard pulls on the dyno to around 5000rpm and you won't need to worry about burning oil or anything else. Phil
  2. Right hand drive Supra floor mats

I've used mats from these guys in my Focus RS and they were great. Although they don't list a Supra they may make some up for you but you'd need to let them measure up the car I believe. https://www.facebook.com/trufit3dmats https://3dmats.com.au/ Phil
  3. Auto vs Manual - Which to Buy?

You referred to me as a troll recently in another thread and I let it slide. I'm glad I did after reading this. Phil
  4. The Official AUSTRALIAN Thread

Funny Mazda had no problems with this request. Truth is the Muppet the dealer has assigned to "new cars" and organising their delivery couldn't be bothered to get off their arse and find out or doesn't know how to obtain the information. Contact Toyota Australia. In reality it should be no...
  5. Rust?

Not sure what the component is but there are a few such as some suspension parts and turbo housing on a lot of cars that are raw cast steel and they accumulate surface rust. Turbo housings you can't do much about but there have been complaints from owner of other brands that some drive line and...
  6. DIY Clutch Delay Valve (CDV) Removal

It's only a problem in the mind as far as I'm concerned. Go out and start your car and put it in first gear raise the rpm to say 1200 bring the clutch up to just before the friction point then side step the clutch pedal. If it doesn't stall and you pull away without any issues then I'll believe...
  7. Brake fluid

Thing is not all reservoirs are totally sealed anyway. Problem with water in the fluid for most people isn't reduced braking because they never use the brakes that hard it's internal corrosion to brake components. Phil
  8. Raceseng Shift Knob step by step install on MT Supra’s

Yea thats more my line. I don't want something that shouts at me every time I get in the car. Nice Alcantara boot as well, or suede maybe. I'm not a big fan of the shifter boot integrated with the knob as the standard one is either. Phil
  9. Brake fluid

Totally correct, thats the word. Thanks for that. Phil
  10. Brake fluid

I stand corrected and thanks for the correction. I wonder how and when I made that error. I mean it's meaning quite obvious when you break the word down. Phil
  11. Raceseng Shift Knob step by step install on MT Supra’s

Nice write up and it's a good looking shift knob sitting on a table but totally out of place in the Supra interior in my opinion. In a nice anodised black I might be tempted but, red, no. Phil
  12. Polished My OEM 23 wheels - Results

The wheels look great. I'm over black wheels but for a do it yourselfer the cost is outrageous. Personally I'd do them myself and spray them with a 2K clear or even clear engine enamel which is quite tough. Then again I refuse to pay for the application of clear bra's to the front of my car and...
  13. Auto vs Manual - Which to Buy?

Buy a manual. Manuals are the best. Auto's are for soccer mums. Phil
  14. Where to find transit/shipping history?

Once you have the name of the ship it's on then you can use one of many maritime trackers to keep a track on it. Phil
  15. Brake fluid

I think the word you're looking for is Hydrophobic and the whole point to a water contamination tester I mentioned in a previous post is to get an accurate idea of whether or not you actually need to replace the fluid. I've bought brand new fluid in an unopened bottle that was already at 1.5%...
  16. Brake fluid

Pressure works better than suction/vacuum. I used the manual and suction method for years with a dedicated vacuum bleeder but the pressure system is far superior thats why professional shops use them. For around $75 or whatever you'd be a fool to yourself for not using one. Phil
  17. Brake fluid

Unless you're doing track work or are unusually hard on brakes or towing something brake fluid needs to be replaced because it becomes water contaminated due to the fluid being hydroscopic. The recognise limit is anything over 2% water contamination. You can buy cheaply from ebay and other...
  18. The Official AUSTRALIAN Thread

The car carriers from Germany generally take about 5 weeks to sail here depending on the ports they visit here and in what order. If you can find out the name of the ship your car is loaded on you can track it on any one of a few maritime tracking apps. Phil
  19. How much oil consumption is normal and what have you guys seen on your cars

All true but you missed 1 point. If the car is used only for very short trips which quite a lot can be such as a few klms to and from the station carpark everyday and local shopping, dropping the kids to school, etc they never get properly warm and the oil gets fuel and water contaminated. Under...
  20. How much oil consumption is normal and what have you guys seen on your cars

The "free service" is something for Soccer mums to get excited about. I'd be pleased if the dealer mechanic could do a competent job on the service you actually pay for. The free service should be re named the "Apprentice Service". In my experience any service the dealers not getting paid...
